Collingwood at the line has to be the play next week.

West Coast struggled against the Box Hill Hawks and struggled against last year's VFL team. Collingwood should murder them.

Had a very big bet on WC -32.5 into India in the cricket at 2.90. It was horrible watching WC struggle while India were dominating England. If i placed it at the tab i would of ripped the ticket up in that last quarter. No idea how they covered that line in the end. Time to watch India pile on 350 :)

taking WC -28.5pts at $2.05,

Had some worries there, but got there in the end! :thumbsu:

I'm going to be very cautious not to underrate GC this year. They really impressed me yesterday, considering how weak the squad they named was I can't believe how competitive they were. Think Gold Coast will be very competitive in most games this year.

If Collingwood have to go to Subiaco I can see them leaving many of their stars and mid tier players at home, seems to be the trend. I think this brings West Coast into the game even though at times they struggled against GC.

St. Kilda cant beat Essendon. So we may see a Eagles, Dons final which whoever is the home team will win.

Has Swan played both weeks or just this week?
Swan, Maxwell, Cloke and Davis made their season "debuts" this weekend, and the likes of Didak, Goldsack, Dick, Jolly and Rounds (great young kid) will probably make their debuts this week.

We will know whether Collingwood are going to win this or not on Wednesday when the squads are announced.

If we even send over 5-6 of our stars, and another 5-6 of our best 22, we will win quite easily.

Pies will send over a decent team, we have a rotation policy in place where all of our senior players will play 2 pre season games, and as suggested above, many have yet to even show up yet.

But we will have to wait till Wednesday to see how strong (or weak) our squad is.

Without a doubt.

It's hard to see them maintaining good form for the entire season but they are absolutely no chance to finish on the bottom, if you ask me.

You look at guys who come into the league and have had an immediate impact like Rich, Martin, Hill, etc. GC have probably 5-6+ similar, then they have the best player in the game and some more than handy players with AFL experience.

I think they'll finish around 10th but $6.50 to make the 8 isn't bad value.

If you think they are no chance for the spoon then you should be laying them at $3 on Betfair. Good odds imo, I'm thinking about it. Surely Brisbane are going to have a red hot go at the spoon this year.

It's really hard to picture a team finishing last with Ablett in it.

Who's due for a rest from the Pies line-up?

Thomas, Shaw, O'Brien, Wood, Reid, Brown, Beams, MacAffer, Johnson, Tarrant have all played two games off the top of my head.

Dawes, Sidebottom, Jolly, Pendlebury, Blair you would think will likely come in, but there's too many unknowns at present.

I think Collingwood are going to win overall however. Can anyone find them better that $2.00?
2.15 on Sportingbet right now.

If you are a "profit" better (as you should be) then backing the Pies @ 2.15 and the Saints @ 2.60 isn't a bad idea IMO, as even if their is an upset in one of the semis, it's almost certain whoever else won the other semi would win the Final anyway.

I backed both clubs before last weeks round at 3.00 (pies) and 4.20 (Saints), my only wish is I had more on it now.

For this week, I'm thinking of loading up on a Pies/Saints multi with the Pick your own line option, probably around the -10 mark each.

I definately absolutely agree, I am on this.

I don't particulary rate Essendon but their record against St.Kilda speaks for itself.

2.15 is the best you will get.

i have them at 5s before it started, doubt i will bother with a hedge this week.

Essendon covering will depend on Watson's fitness for me, i think the Saints squad is good enough to cover personally
