I put 3 talls in the backline given that Brisbane will from what I have heard will play Bradshaw, Clark and Henderson. McPhee and Laycock will cover the hole at CHF. McPhee will lead up to the wing while Laycock will be used as more a contested marking target across half-forward. Midfield looks very shakey.

Ok I just assumed. I knew Brown wasn't going to play and Henderson was. I just assumed that your other forwards will be on the park. Will Brennan line up as a forward?

I want Essendon to win the NAB cup. Or at least 2 games. we need to get the new kids into a winning culture, and then hope it carries on into the H&A season.

It would also be good if Lloyd could have lots of game time. If he finds form he will carry it into the H&A away season and this would be really good for us.

Couldn't agree more. Too many times last year you could see it in the whole team's body-language: "Oh well, we've lost again, what can you do?"

I want them to bleed at the thought of losing, like we do in the stands. I want them to fight on even when it's futile.

"It's just the pre-season" becomes "it's just round X" becomes "it's just one season".

We want to play lot's of kids? Then do that by playing lots of games. You can n-tuple the field-time you give the kids by playing n matches ... no other way.

Hey guys, i think the bombers team for NAB cup surely has to include youth, and the players that will make a difference to our success in the short and long term...thus the team should be:

F: Jetta, Lloyd, Davey
R: Hille, Monfries, JJ

This team will be quick, strong and hungry...come round 1 this should be the team as well including obviously the absentees Lucas and Fletcher!

Brown could well be playing now that Brisbane's intra-club was washed out, and he was meant to play in that game?? Black and Bradshaw are definitely out.

agreed! it is rare to play against a team holding a brownlow medallist as Black is - and i'm sure a multiple club b&f winner - and people expecting he won't do too well, or he can be shut down...Black is as good as Judd, just not as explosive...also tough as nails...would ne nice to snag him down at bomberland!

I reckon Pears is a very good chance and if davey and stanton aren't playing then i think he will make it, although he might be left out for charters.

With stanton out, i think rama will come in the center, and pears onto the bench. Davey out would probaly bring mean reimers in the foward line and Hislop will probaly come in. Welsh out will mean NLM will move to the back line or maybe McViegh down back, NLM in the forward line (as he was played today at the intra club) Charters onto the bench.

The problem of this team to me, is that it's a bit one demensional, as in many of the players like hocking, hislop, jj, pev etc. are similiar player; in and under, but lacking polish. Apart from houli not much run off the bench.
Looking at the team, i would be surprised if some of the player knights said wouldn't play do actually play.

Only player who is probaly a chance who i have left out is Dick, but i don't see where we could use him.

You might be right on Lee will probaly be in instead of charters, i guess i left him out because i really don't rate him. But hey that was me thinking out loud when it came to the team. Just a bit bored to be honest, so wasting some time, and after seeing the game today i'm even more anxious to see some real footy.
