How many full games has he played in the last couple of months? Can someone set out his games round by round?

One does have to wonder..do they get to MRI the draft kids? Pretty sure he had issues well before drafting... and these occurrences can just kill your list management choices. If we keep pick players that break down as kids... should we be surprised that they do it again once drafted? Or is it something we are doing or not doing. How can Vardy go for years having a bad run playing 25 games ..then goes to West Coast and play 17 in one season.

Cockatoo is obviously talented .. do we just have to put up with this for another 4 years..by which time we will be frustrated enough to let him go to the Crows for P87? It seems to be something when he goes into top gear.. is it something sprint coaches can help with in their early 20's?
Vardy had a good run with injury for us last year. He just sucked and couldn't get a game.

To be fair, if WC hadn't been completely ravaged of fit ruckmen this year he wouldn't be getting a game this year either. He has been bog ordinary this year, except for when they played us.

Last 4 games he's played:

Round 9 vs Bulldogs - 14% game time.
Round 11 vs Adelaide - 69% game time.
Round 13 vs West Coast - 12% game time.
Round 19 vs Carlton - 54% game time.

Thanks for that.

Considering he's hurt his hammy mid-game a few times, it won't just be about 'risking' him for a final with no VFL prep, there will be a risk of going a man short ten minutes into a final.

Yes indeed.

And based on these numbers, the risk is very, very significant.

Geez I love the way he plays , very intimidating .
He's got some power - apart from the tackle look at the way he easily pushes Weitering away despite him having the forward momentum

He could have had 4 goals - the shot he missed was a sitter.
Stating the obvious but we need to get him right , very valuable asset :)

Hey guys I don't know if you agree but I took it as a real positive that Brett Deledio is back playing simply from the perspective that he had, according to him, had 8 or 9 separate nicks in his calf in other words re-injuring it 8 or 9 times prior to playing in the NEAFL two weeks ago. If he with an old man injury can get back and Cyril have his hamstring issues effectively treated then surely we can manage Cockatoo in such a way as to keep in on the park at least semi-regularly.

This is true, and I am confident that he'll get over his hamstring issues by next year, I just wish he got over them before this year's finals series because of how important he is for us.

Not to be a party pooper, but I would not say that Deledio is back. He has played 6 qrtrs in the NEAFL, and they are gambling with him this week in the AFL. GWS are in a position with him that they had to play him now for him to have any impact on the season, so they are rolling the dice. I hope it goes well for him but he is still a massive risk.

Hard-edged Cats patient with Nakia Cockatoo

Nakia Cockatoo will return to training ahead of teammates in the new year as he continues a steady build towards full fitness, but the Cats are not prepared to put a date on when they expect him to play.

Bedevilled by injury since being the No.10 pick in the 2014 national draft, the talented 22-year-old has played just 34 games in four seasons with the Cats.

This thread being bumped scared the crap out of me

Good to see him return to training earlier than others.

That wasn't my intention Daniel. There probably is a better thread for it. I did not want to start a new thread.

Still only 22.

I just assumed he would have been at least 23 or 24. He's definitely worth persisting with with the talent he has, but the amount of soft tissue problems Cocky has had really worries me.

Unfortunately, i don't even include him in any best 22 configuration simply because he can't get on the park. Happy to be proven wrong, but I find it unlikely that he magically becomes an ultra durable player.

Cocky, god love him, is a myth. Might be tge sort of player like Vardy for the weagles this year.

Someone doesnt know what best 22 means.

I dont think Chris Scott knows what best 22 is ...
but id bet my last dollar that NC would be in our best 22 if he was as fit as anyone at our club.
As it stands I think he may have the title role in the latest m night shyamalan movie. Another in a long line "if " players we have had on our list over the years. IF he played 22 games for us in 2019 ..I think we would be a much better side. Lets hope he can.
