3 Vickerys over Nat Fyfe, thats just about the stupidest thing ever written on BigFooty!

Just one more time before you shut this one down, can you tell me how Hawthorn have already done it?
Quoting a post from almost 12 months earlier to show that you still don’t understand it. That’s pretty amazing.

Hawthorn trades in Lake, Gibson, Gunston, Hale....all pre-threepeat, rather than going all out for a superstar from another club.

Yeah it worked with great success when you asked them to take unders to join prime Franklin, Hodge, Rioli, Mitchell, Roughead etc, remains to see how it works for us in this new era with the cap increase and lack of core nucleus.

I just wanted to know how you think those guys would have gone without the plethora of 'Fyfe type' players that the Hawks already had. You know the ones in talking about, Hodge, Mitchell, Franklyn, Roughead, Rioli, Burgoyne and Lewis.

Then I wanted to see if you were able to grasp the fact that sometimes drafting a need type doesnt necessarily mean drafting one of the best in the compition, but obviously not!

Did you just compare trading in a dual All Australian Brian Lake to a Tyron Vickery type?

It’s got me stuffed why you want to continue to argue in a dead thread.

Clearly the mention of “Vickery” refers to going after someone who is not asking for 850k+ a season, therefore allowing you to recruit a number of decent players rather than one superstar.

Because it was so stupid I was half expecting you to say you were drunk when you wrote it!

Yeah shut it down, It's clear you can't grasp the concept that is, without superstars leading the way, the Vickery types are useless. Also maybe using Vickerys name may not have been the best way to go about your argument, I am on record saying I would have taken three players over Fyfe if his price was around $1.5m, but I wasn't talking about Vickery type players, Rockliff, Wilson and a Draftee was my line of thinking!!!

Credit where it's due however, plenty of other Mods would have had a shot at me and then shut the thread down!
