Was set to play last year did his ankle in a impact injury and his shoulder earlier this year. Payed his own way to Germany to rectify the problems he had.

Worth noting too that the ankle injury was a result of Armitage rolling on top of him, rather than his body just breaking down. If not for that would probably have debuted about then as had been in ok form.

No just stating what happened.
Like you know exactly what happened.
Anyway, if I was offered $300k pa for 3 years without having played a game, I would have jumped on it as well. He made the right decision, in that he is going to play his first AFL match in his 3rd year with 4 games to go. Will probably re-sign at $500k pa end of year for another 3 yrs.

He was always going to be more likely to break into the saints midfield than the Pies midfield. I think he may have even said it in an interview at the time.

I suspect now that he has the magical St Kilda medicos behind him he will never suffer another hamstring injury.

Classic bicep enhancing stance from Nathan!

In all seriousness, good luck to the bloke, he deserves a decent run at it

From a Collingwood perspective the 2013 draft was depressing. Had 2 top 10 picks and selected two very talented players (Scharenberg and Freeman), but both of them have had their AFL careers severely limited due to injuries.

A fit Freeman would be playing at Collingwood let's not be silly.

Guys a pathological anti Pies troll. Not open to rational give and take arguments. From the Adam H school of moronic logic. Best to deprive of oxygen.

It’s always good to have him back

A fit Freeman would be in Collingwood's side it's not hard to comprehend.
A fit Freeman may not be up to AFL standard at any club full stop.

VFL dominance does not translate to AFL quality. Jarryd Blair is averaging 21 possessions and 7 tackles in the VFL this year. (Freeman is averaging 22 & 4)

No, he wouldn’t be in a top 4 team’s best 22. Wait for him to make his AFL debut before getting a hard-on.

We are talking about a fully fit Freeman 3 years ago. He would have been in the team going by what Ed Maguire said this morning on Triple M.

Collingwood wasn’t in the top 4 and potentially contesting finals at Round 20 3 years ago.

I don’t want to argue with you, I hope Freeman bloody smashes it for St Kilda, plays 4 quarters and plays out the rest of the season with absolutely no injury concerns.

You just need to stop having potshots at Collingwood at any chance you get for no reason.

Wasn't having a potshot just responding to a poster taking a swipe at Freeman's ability saying he left because it would be easier to get into StKildas team than Collingwood.

Good on him. Must have felt like he would never get there. Hope he has a solid career from here on.

(Pies supporters, please ignore the kindergarten potshots one Saints supporter is having at you. Make the thread about good wishes for the kid).
