You're right dave - there's one AFL future stars package and the one on collingwoodfc.com.au is a edit / cut of that original highlights video.

So this is the Full One?:

CTV for some Weird Reason do make the Highlights Shorter from some Reason

It's a highlights reel,ofcourse.
But his kicking to position is exquisite.

Such a big asset to bring to senior football.

I reckon that's Hine head obscured by Murphy's left shoulder too. Wearing the puffer jacket.

Yep, you’re right. The guy standing between them looks to be part of the team too, and maybe also the guy to Rendell’s left. A team of recruiters from the Pies, all having a gander?

If we’d studied that image pre-draft, Murphy might have had a higher profile on here. It’s not like one of the senior recruiters was sent along on his own, to check Murphy out.

Such kicking to our other big asset will give defenders nightmares.

Exactly.

And if the players are in any doubt watch Wells

And am sure Murphy will soon be leading the charge in this area

Some of us saw this earlier, although we were a little elliptical about it.

The middle one is Adam Shepard. It was well known pre-draft we were the first club to interview him, and possibly were the reason he got an invite to the draft (because we were considering him with 6 if Stephenson didn't pass his final medical).

That photo was on Draft Centrals player profile page of his before the draft.

Next we'll have people stalking Hine on weekends :p

I distinctly remember a conversation had prior to that draft RE that photo and the fact that all of our recruitment team was there and how that was weird.

Weird how?

Our recruitment team is looking at TAC games?

I can't believe he was still available at pick 39. Absolute no brainer taking this kid in the 3rd round, I'm surprised he didn't go in the 1st round.

I remember the conversation because I instigated it. I just wondered whether it was normal for an entire recruiting team to go to the one game, assuming to watch the one player. Especially given it was probably on a weekend where there were heaps of other games on, TAC, etc.

Apparantly it's just not cricket.
Who would have thunk it?
Recruiters going to watch games of players they are particularly keen on.

I'm in shock and awe!

I'd suggest as the recruiters were particularly keen on him, perhaps already pencilling him as a first rounder type, they went together as a group to further discuss.

By the way. I'd like to thank Jack Frost for this. We swapped our third rounder with Brisbane, otherwise our pick would've been pick 45. Quite possibly would've been taken in those 5 selections.
That's the best stats Jack Frost has ever given us.

Constable, Moore and Garner were all touted to go quite early (top 20-ish) and two of them slipped to the 60's and Constable went a couple if picks before our pick 39.

It happens, all the time.

I might answer the question from pablo disco bar a little differently.

Let’s say there were 10 clubs that rated him in the top 15-20 overall. Six of those clubs might not have had early enough picks to take him or they were too early (us, St Kilda, Fremantle, Essendon, Hawthorn and Port) we then might have another four that had guys available ranked just ahead of him (Sydney, GC, Brisbane and WB). The only clubs I would say that definitely didn’t rate him were Geelong, GWS and WC who had a combined 10 picks between 6 and 39 that were in the sweet spot to take Murphy.

I would never refer to a guy as a slider unless they were roundly acknowledged as a top 20 candidate, were invited to the draft and then missed out completely. The draft can be a strange beast so I would say that Murphy went where the draft rated him relevant to others and if he receives good development he’s a decent chance of making it. For me that means starting him off a HFF because right now we’re well stocked for mobile mid sized defenders and are pretty shallow in that type of forward (WHE is the only one that immediately springs to mind). Starting him down back probably eases him in at VFL level, but really limits his senior opportunities, IMO.

But with the exception of Maynard, our mid size defenders can't kick.

Howe, Scharenberg and Langdon are all above average kicks. Do they take the soft option too often? Yes, but I would definitely not say thy can’t kick. Murphy is no better than them anyway.

In fact I wouldn’t have Maynard as a better kick than those three behind the ball because of his at times horrible decision making.
