It's nice to hear some positive feedback on the game from people who actually play it, rather than game reviewers. How about the 'My Player' game mode? Sounds really exciting, but does it work?

It does work, it's quite addictive and I think enhances the other game modes because if you want a break from your My Player career and you go play an Association it gives you a completely different feel for the game and something fresh, that's what it's like for me anyway.

While it's not perfect of course, it's been very solidly made and really only needs enhancements in features like negotiating contracts and being able to get traded.

One irritating thing though is the computer is a bit trade happy, they make many trades and sometimes silly ones but if they fix that in the next version (also in Association) then it won't be far off a perfect basketball simulation experience IMO.

I've found the computer it be a bit of a bastard in terms of trades, but then again I don't know too much about the NBA.

I haven't tried My Player mode too much. I'm having too much fun in association mode, despite not being very successful :(

Anyone downloaded the PS3 patch yet? To say my download is struggling would be an understatement.
Yeah, mine took about 3 minutes.

Wow, thats pretty awesome, didn't know my internet was that fast hahah.

Played for a bit today after downloading the patch. Decided to go with 10 minute quarters for My Player, and finally made the NBA after just 1 game with 10 minute quarters, I'm playing for the Memphis Grizzlies and the team is terrible, we had to play the Lakers, Cavs and the Rockets first up, and I struggled against great players. It is so much harder in the NBA though, I am struggling to score points, averaging about 15% from the field and an F teammate rating, all because of bad shot selection.

Since the patch, scoring has became a lot harder as a whole. My Pistons in 10 minute qtrs are really struggling to score. 3 qtr time is usually still in the 50s, while before it was more realistic being in the high 60s or 70s.

The CPU teams are the same though.

My Player also can't hit a shot. No matter how wide open. My mid range is high 80s, yet a wide open 18fter, and he gets front rim

Same. i can hardly score and every shot is a bad attempt. May start a new my player and build my player up differently

Yeah i find its harder to hit open mid range shots on my player when you're open post-patch. My guy has a 99 rating for midrange and 73 for 3 pointers, I found that in this situation taking the open jumper results in a bout a 40-50% conversion rate but when i catch and take a dribble to my right (preferred side) and then shoot it, it's falling about 75% of the time and my shoot off the dribble rating is somewhere in the 60s, so yeah maybe that'll help you guys.
Also has anyone noticed an increase in CPU's throwing alleys no matter the situation and scoring on them with ease, i've played 3 games post patch and the CPU have averaged at least 10 a game

I'm having a much easier time playing after the patch on My Player. Makes it so much easier as well, being able to get 1500+ skill points per game

Yeah man, I think everyone is, if you read above people have said that they are having trouble ;)

For those struggling with shooting- just try and upgrade the consistency rating and it should get easier to nail those mid rangers.

Yeah, after really struggling for 2 games, I've come out and scored 41 and 33 (12 min qtrs). The 33 was on about 80% shooting. I've realised you have to be very picky with your shot selection. I mean like a clear separation of your man before you shoot. I managed to hit open shots, only because I was wide open, and I stepped into them. Don't settle for the 3 if you can take that step in for the long 2.

I've found driving to be much more responsive. Love how they absorb the contact, and throw up different variations to avoid blocks. I scored on a really high banked layup as Bosh was coming over for the block.

My consistency is fairly high, but I guess I might need to make it a little higher, interesting what your saying sblack

My first start post-patch with 12 minute quarters ended with me smashing like 6 milestones

55 points, 22 rebounds, 13 assists, 4 steals, 9 blocks.

If your a center with good speed/quickness you are just about unstoppable.

Anyone had any luck playing online?

Wait, I may not have the patch....(fail, yes)

So....

How do you get said patch?
Put disc in. PS3 says there is a new version available (1.01), and says you need to download to play.

Try taking out and putting the disc back in
