Ok so to confirm we have Aussies playing in Summer League

Newley: Houston
Ingles: GSW
Mills: Portland
Nevill: Hornets
Baynes: Lakers
Schenscher: Lakers
Jawai: Toronto

So we have 7 Aussies total, the league kicked off yesterday in Orlando and continues in Las Vegas on July 10 US time.

It it common for scrubs to play on multiple summer league teams?

Yep, best chance to get noticed and/or paid. Some of the guys that play in Orlando will go over to Vegas next week. Rob Kurz (ex-GSW) is on the Orlando squad and will suit up for the Wolves in Vegas.

Kurz is on the Nexers (Nets/Sixers team) as a Sixer invite

Interesting to read a report on how Stephen Curry went in his first outing with the Warriors.

Apparently their opponents went straight for the tactic used against him in college - guard him with a forward.

Watching Ingles guard Tyreke Evans in summer league right now, far superior athleticism from Tyreke.

However the actual game is awful, its a 2-3 pass at most offence, a lot of pull up jump shots, its disgusting.

Ingles doing a lot of passing and not asserting himself on offence when getting the ball.

Edit: Games goes to overtime, commentators say "please dont go to overtime"

Unfortunately Brad Newley is no good.

How about Brandon Jennings though; 23 points (only 5 FT), 8 assists & 5 steals.

This is no nikoloz tskitishvili summerleague stud/regular season dud type scenario, the boy can play

Beaubois looks the goods. He was someone I was hoping the Raps could pick up (with a bought pick), but nevermind. Has good range, and a very quick release. Apparently he is a pretty good defender, so could be anything. :thumbsu:

I saw an interview with Jennings after his first game - reporter said something about BJ talking trash, BJ answered that he likes to do that to get into his opponents head and gain that edge.

I like this kid already. :D

Mills and Jawai were both DNP's today. Mills not getting a single minute is disappointing, why is bayless even in the summer league anyway? Surely they'd give Patty a go, Bayless was 7-17 with 6 TO's..

umm, why would portland give mills any minutes when he's got a busted foot?

Wolves are 0-2 in Summer League to date, but Jonny Flynn is doing very well and Wayne Ellington improved enormously after a dodgy opener against the Rockets.

As for Corey Brewer, well it has been some time since he played 5 on 5.

The MilwaukeeTalkie is here!!

I'm really gutted Miami have decided to save money and not participate in the summer league. Would've loved to see how all our young guys shape up...
It's probably much more benefitial for them to be training with the starters, if they are worthy that is.

I know the Sixers boards are quite annoyed that Ed put Jrue and Speights into the SL while guys like Young, AI9, Brand, Smith, etc have been training together, working on the Princeton. While the other 2 were playing in a pointless scrap game that doesn't really achieve anything.
