The Qld team of the year is a load of crap. Not one player from NEAFL gets named yet Hunt, Wilkinson and Okeeve get named. Selectors pull your head in.
I know there is a NEAFL team of the year but surely these players deserve to be there abouts?

they pick their favourites every year. what's the point of having a team picked. they picked hunt just to say how good is he going in the afl. he has been picked in a Honorable origin team and nothing. they are just trying to justify the suns reasoning for signing him. the neafl players would be a better choice
The league should look at an award that the players vote for
THE PLAYERS PLAYER or the coaches player umpires seen to make wrong decisions even when not under pressure (after the game doing the votes)

Saw this posted earlier and thought there must have been another Hunt playing. Absolutely ridiculous.BTW - on SEN last night there was discussion about the VFL going to the dogs, same as what a few on here were complaining about re Suns / Lions 2's. Box Hill gave up 8 players on the weekend to Hawthorn - result - get touched up in their 1st final despite easily being the best team in the comp all year. Like i said guys, NEAFL aint the only ones who suffer. TBH the PHC is a far more credible football comp if thats what you are really looking for.

Would have some question marks over the Pineapple cup as well
- when NEAFL clubs have a bye players dropping back to Pineapple Cup and influencing results and percentages which ultimately decided positions 2 to 5. Korey Fulton 11 goals for PBC, others playing for Wilston Grange and Mayne
- Magpies reserves features players who I have seen as top ups for Brisbane Lions in NEAFL (How can you go from NEAFL to Pineapple Cup reserves)

what vfl are you watching, the borough have been streets ahead of the rest. i do believe the vfl teams that are affiliated with the afl clubs, can have up to 16 listed players in the finals. i would like to know what it is for the lions and the suns

Sorry boys - shouldn't have said "easily best in the comp" (old Box Hill coming out in me). They lost after having 8 players go up bc their AFL side decided they wanted to rest a few.
At the end of the day the same issues you guys think are MASSIVE problems in the NEAFL. Just letting you know that it is no different in any State comp in Australia that is one step down from the AFL. The AFL sides that have players / sides playing in those comps basically compromise the competition with their agenda which is not to win the comp but to develop players.
There is no real solution for this issue in the NEAFL from what i can see unless you have the Suns and Lions playing in a separate comp from the rest. Not sure this is great for Qld footy either though.
As far as a pure comp, the PHC is far less compromised (no matter what ThunderDoc thinks - Fulton was a one off and shouldn't have been allowed, suggest it might not be next year) - just nowhere near the quality of the NEAFL. Suppose you can't have your cake...

whilst we have been on many occasions bewildered by some of the umpiring during the year, I think they have at least got their voting for the Grogan right.The end result being a fairly accurate gauge on the top 10 players in the league gathering votes.
May I invite opinions on the Fevolva subject. Do you think a club might have the balls to give him a third chance. No need for me to go into the fors and against, we all know that, but just will be interested in your opinions.
On another subject, with the preliminary and grand finals being played at Redlands, ... infofmation I ve gathered, is that the Sharks Club is going all out to make these finals a huge success, promoting not only the games but the local community to attend.I think we might see the best finals crowds in attendance for a number of years. Which is well deserved for the participating clubs, and a big crowd just creates so much atmosphere, and gain more local exposure to the quality of the competition.
Fully agree, this is an absolute joke. At least the NEAFL team of the year was very good in my opinion.
