Nervous twitches - how to settle Grand Final nerves?

Ibuprofen or aspirin is a far safer alternative.
Paracetamol and alcohol is the number one cause of liver failure I believe. Paracetamol causes strain on your liver and when you factor in the alcohol it can push it over the limit.
I really didn't intend for this thread to be a serious downer thread. Mainly to discuss some of our anxieties and some relief by discussions.
But yes, if you're talking seriousness, alcohol and panadol can be not good for the liver in very high concentrations. You mentioned liver damage/failure, but it's not going to happen unless it's a serious binge episode, or if doing it daily for long duration of time.
However, you failed to note that ibuprofen and aspirin can cause stomach irritation, gastritis and stomach ulcers. The same issues can arise from alcohol also. Which means, alcohol doesn't really mix with any pain killers in high doses!

Bottom line, drink responsibly. Drink to enjoy, but don't drink to get knocked out, or to get liver damage!

I'm starting to get pretty nervous and tense now. Think I might go get myself a massage (not that kind) on Saturday morning otherwise my neck / shoulders might just seize up completely and leave me in agony all afternoon. Just a quick little massage (not that kind, I said!) in the morning to get all loosened up and relaxed and I should be right to go.
How many kinds of massages are there?

Read up on the Rick Pitino / Louisville scandal going on in College Basketball atm. Three scandals, and the one involving hiring sex workers to sleep with possible recruits didn't get him fired, but he now has effectively been from an FBI sting involving a $100,000 payment via Adidas to a player to come to Louisville. Whoopsie! That kept my mind off the game for a bit.

Then there is the quote from him about the sex worker scandal where he apparently said something along the lines that the players they got there weren't very good, so the sex workers didn't really help with recruiting anyway! I'm horrible with nerves. I'm not the most prolific of posters on here but I've found myself posting even less about our team this finals series. All I can say is thanks to the Power for giving us so much schadenfreude of late, it's been a welcome distraction.

I also find that music helps, any kind that makes you feel upbeat and good.

Here's a poem I made on the Cats Prelim Game Day just passed, and in relation to some nerves I had felt:
I had early morning diarrhea.
Is it the Game Day excitement? Or is it the fear?
We are oh so close, oh so near!

I hope Otten does an "Ellen" and kicks half a dozen.
I hope Tex becomes beast, and kicks 3 in the least.
I hope Sloane has a belter, and make his tagger run for shelter.

Carn Crows! Play to own it, never give in!
Play through adversity, time to lift your chins.
Most of all...just give us a bloody win!

Maybe you should do some research?

All I am saying is that if you have been drinking heavily and wake up with a hangover don't take paracetamol.

In the likelihood that booze will be a common menu this weekend (win or lose), here are some well researched tips (and from personal experiences) to help relief the hangovers:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat some food
3. Take some pain killers.
4. Rest the brain, get some more sleep!

What's the best pain killer to take?
If you have awoken after a hangover, then there would have been a good few hours for the stomach and liver to settle down from all the alcohol churning.
Any one of panadol, nurofen or aspirin should be ok if general health is fine. If on the other hand, you have pre-existing medical conditions (stomach, liver etc) or taking other medications, best to consult your doctor which medication is the most suitable for you to cure a hangover.

Definitely well researched.

That's the unfortunate thing about having to drive back on Sunday. Have to limit myself to a few beers, where i'll want to be celebrating or drowning my sorrows.

Thankfully I don't start work on Monday until the afternoon, cause i'm saying cheers either way when I get home!
