Re: Never thought it would come to thid

He won't leave. He has been around too long and is too professional to walk out because you are having a lean period.

Player/Coach maybe?

Yeah that would make sense.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Paul Roos is the answer...throw all the money in the world at him...get him to the Lions!

Voss has to go...were all tired of the excuses and apologies!! were going backwards

Voss = no game plan, no structure, no hope , no future, no idea

yes Im annoyed!!!! and embarrassed!!!

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Sadly I think he needs to move on. And I have backed him to the hilt the last 12 months.

Could have been a great coach, but when Matthews decided to walk 12 months early Voss taking the roll was always a massive risk.

I said at the time you need to take risks to win premierships, and give Voss credit here he put is Balls on the line.

But as much as we have good young talent, we don't have any future superstars emerging we have good players but no Game breakers, we are still WAY too reliant on Black, Power & Brown.

The problem is though, Gold Coast still get first dibs on any decent Queensland talent, we have no money and to be honest I don't see us being anywhere near a Grand final for 10 years, regardless of what happens.

I actually like our current jumpers because they represent what we currently are "A Joke".

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Couple of words:

Bartlett
Quinlan
Roos
Hafey

Think about it, who was a great player and who was a great coach?

Merrett up forward was adventurous, but Vossy persisted with it for one quarter too long.
...."Why are people so cruel?"
I'm pretty sure it's "Why are people so unkind?". Of course you have to be going grey to even care.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

English please.

I just used the google translator on

I dont mean to be optomist but common

and it came up with

I dont mean to be pessimistic but come on!!

would have been frustrating knowing that Browny would have ripped thier kids apart and probabaly scared Brennan out of a few kicks.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Personally I think we are expecting too much from our team and when we lose a game we could have won we just unload on Vossy.

You think that expecting us to beat a team of kids that had 15 goals kicked against them in a quarter last week is expecting too much?

C'mon - do you live in la la land?

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

I was joking, I know he won't go. And the last thing we need to do is get another coach who has been an assistant coach about a year. Need a coach that has been an assistant coach for a while or maybe even a former coach.

I thought leppa had been an assistant up at Brisbane since he retired?

I know he signed on with us in 09. By the end of this year that's 5 years experience in the coaching box. A hell of a lot more than Voss.

Leppa would be a good coach but he doesn't meet my criteria for next coach.

"NO HISTORY WITH BRISBANE"

I thought Geelong's move to get Chris Scott, someone who has never had any association with Geelong was a smart move. I ignored this fact three years ago, but look at Hawthorn, they didn't win a flag until they went outside the Hawthorn family.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Vossy is damaging his own record as a legend of our club. Some great players have failed as coaches. That's no disgrace.
What is a disgrace is hanging on long after you've proven you don't have the judgement, the wisdom or the life skills to manage a list at the very highest level.
Sadly it's time for Vossy to go. Now, not at the end of the season. Now.
Here's an idea from left field. After Malthouse wins back to back flags with the Pies and Eddie has to renege on his deal with Bucks let's help him out and offer Bucks the vacant Lions coaching position.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

The thing about Voss is that he is not afraid to make big calls.

However at some point, you need to start seeing those calls pay dividends, or they are just bad decisions.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

I would of thought that losing this game tonight would automatically mean for Voss: Pack your bags and go?

I feel ashamed of being a lions supporter right now!

Sure we are competitive on the score line but seriously how long can this go for without getting any rewards to show for it?

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

I won't be renewing my membership if Voss is still here next year and I will be letting the club know this.

I used to defend him, but there's nothing worth defending anymore.

Bring on someone with no history with the club, a complete fresh start. The only exception to that is Paul Roos.

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Oh well, I guess this is rock bottom, took a while to get here. But it is not all Vossys fault, despite so much hype that it is.

Things will get better.
Really breaks my heart to see what Brennan did tonight though, like a bad dream really..shattered ,after all the time we put into him:thumbsdown:.

Not happy how the AFL have given them so much, just not fair. They were really primed for tonight , dont think last week meant much at all, didn't really try, just wanted to beat us.Sucks, how can a team be so bad one week and so good the next:confused:

Re: Never thought it would come to thid

Finished.

I've defended him until now. I've had it. If they don't sack him, I'm not renewing my membership next year.

I've never in my life been more angry at my club. I saw some tough years at Fitzroy but the players in 1996 had more balls than the 2011 brisbane lions.
Well that makes two of us Yippyio. I have defended him right from the start, but the last twelve months have seen me change the way I think about him as a coach. We have been "developing" quite a few of these players for two or three seasons now, yet we seem unable to begin to look like a team that can think its' way through a game without serious brain-fades & skill-errors costing us big time on the scoreboard. I'm not saying that we should be winning every game we play, but we definitely should havewon more than we have over the past 1 1/2 seasons.

We couldn't have picked a better time to be playing as badly as this - there'll be no relief in sight with trades for the next who-knows-how-many-seasons.

The other thing that has to be said - whilst the return of Brownie may help, we have to stop relying on him to win games for us - there are 22 players out there, and successful teams don't just win because they have one champion - they have to have players who are decisive and who have the skills to NOT keep constantly turning the ball over.

RANT OVER!!
