Again, if the money has been delegated to us for football spending, then how are we not prepared to spend it. It seems unfathomable that they could get away with this. Surely if this is the case, it needs to be brought right out into the open by any means possible - media leaks, explanations from Primus, Duncanson, Rhode even.

FWIW- I think you could do a lot worse than Gary Ayres. He was pretty harshly treated when he was at the AFC, despite some good results. He's just coached a non-AFL aligned club to an unbeaten season in the VFL and has a wealth of experience.

He is undoubtedly stubborn and a bit prickly, but surely that would be a good thing after the year you had. Primus needs to be challenged intelligently.

Most of us would take Ayers as of now, I'd suggest. Anyone committed to the cause, and prepared to start without biases or prejudices will do.

How, what can be done now? Nothing! We don't know who is signed or is signing! Until all of that we can't assume anything.

Perhaps Watters is the key for us with Ayres and a younger assistant?

Maybe Watters is Senior Assistant, Ayres Defence, Hocking forward and .....? Midfield.

Because getting Malthouse to Port isn't about money. Where's the benefit for him to go to from the best resourced club in the league to the worst, with an administration that is hellbent on not supporting/fixing the football department? Why wouldn't he go to St Kilda first?

Assuming you're correct for a moment, then what incentive does Rhode have to work his arse off in the next two weeks to get good results for us, unless he is staying at the club in some other capacity.

If Balme is going to join us, then about time this thing was finalised, because he is still speaking like someone very much involved with Geelong.
