Does have the contacts behind him to attract new assistants? He's been at Port his whole time and I don't know how much influence he has reached outside of our club.

Perhaps from this perspective the coach doesn't have enough contacts either? But I'm happy to wait until it all unfolds.

If I was CEO id rid any Norwood influence off of our staff

While you're at it, let's retrospectively sack Roger James. Of course, we'd have to give the 2004 premiership back because we couldn't have won it without his influence in the preliminary final, but that's a small price to pay to continue a rivalry that's been dead for 15 years, right?

It's the 21st century, people. Who gives a **** if somebody comes from Norwood if they're going to do their best for the PAFC while they're here? Allan Christensen apparently despised Geelong when he was growing up, and now he's just played a role in winning a premiership with them.

Well with Bailey throwing his allegiance in with the other mob, it looks more and more likely that Primus will have a fairly low profile panel next year.

Poor guy will continue to be up against it while he remains as our senior coach.

Hope he can get some loyal, enthusiastic and bright people around him, whatever their previous reputations might be. Moreover, wouldn't it be sweet if Matty could really turn things around from here and stick it right up everyone who has ridiculed him and rejected him. That would be the ultimate!

God, I hope he can turn this crap around.

BTW, it surely now is time to take the thumbs up icon off this thread.

lol, if we were the laughing stock on the field we are well and truely now the laughing stock on the field, off the field and now the international space station.

Unfortunately this is how the wider ramifications of the debacle that was Primus' first year in charge are now manifesting. We have lost credibility everywhere and our brand (whatever that means) has negligible value to the outside.

Guys like Bailey and Walsh represented hope that those who knew Port Adelaide might be able to come back to the fold and help us rebuild.

I wonder how much our young players who re-signed were swayed by the promise of seasoned, strategic and proven assistants.

I guess they offered him a better role and more money. Disappointed but considering how badly Melbourne still folded up under him when the going got tough you wonder what he would have brought strategically.

Some decent announcements soon would be good.

Ayres and Mark Harvey might still be in the mix.

Was hoping it would go the other way, with the players re-signing it would help to attract coaches here to work with a committed playing group

If Scott Watters gets the gig at Saint Kilda and Harvey ends up back in Victoria, there will be little to be excited about in terms of assistant coach appointments at the club.

Even getting Brett Montgomery would be a coup at this stage.

Getting Dean Laidley/Skype to stay would be a coup at this stage

surely there would be stars of the past that dont have much to do and would like to get back into footy..just make a list of retired premiership players and go through them starting with Wanganeen, Harley, Lloyd far out there is about 50 players retiring every year.

im ****ing sick of this shit

the club need to come out NOW and let its members know what the hell is happening

There are assistants going left right and centre and theres zero happening at our supposed "beefed up football department"

Dear Members

No one is interested in assisting Matthew Primus in 2012.

Regards

PAFC
