They’ll add the two
Then it’ll be reviewed / adjusted by the coaching leadership and operational leaders
Raised / endorsed by C-suite / exec’s

More than just a leadership role - branding , image etc has a big say and exec’s will want their input

It's more the media circus that comes with it. Need articles / interviews / training all to release the information as the club wants

Plus ultimately it will be chosen by the coaches. If the players votes align with what they are anticipating then it'll be no issue, but I have absolutely no doubt that if Caleb wins the popular vote, and the coaches see it as being between AP and AB, that they will make sure one of their choices gets it. Perhaps they'll take the votes into account as a sign of who the team wants but I wouldn't have thought it would be more than that.
