He's the guy if he goes full time in New Japan. He is already everything that they're hoping Shota or Tsuji will become. I think they've already largely given up on Narita, Uemura and SANADA... the last of which has to be late 30s by now, he might be better off getting out of NJPW at this age if they've given up on him. He could be box office in NOAH; if Takeshita were going the other way, SANADA could even fill the "stupidly sexy Japanese guy" role that Takeshita currently occupies in AEW.

Upon watching it a second time in Japanese, I think that, along with Kidd's fighting spirit, Tanahashi was just so moved by the beauty and majesty of pro wrestling done really well. It's even better the second time.

I really love pro wrestling. This was stunning.

Or who knows, maybe it's President Tana in tears knowing that none of his musketeers have an ounce of the charisma, ability or fighting spirit of Gabe Kidd.
