Hmmm there never used to be an “alternate” on Wikipedia

From some whispers I've heard around the traps this could very well be an alternate in a couple of games in 2018.

The decision to keep it was obviously a late one, you can't even buy the 2018 clash (the one in the picture), not available yet.
Whatever they decided to choose from those options likely entered production for a short time before the AFC reversed their decision and decided to keep the old design. Won't be surprised if we see a few 2018 clash prototypes on eBay in the coming months.

I wonder if the 2017 Grand Final will see the end of cartoon clash jumpers, it had to give the board a fright that all you need in 2018 is Richmond to finish above Adelaide and if they play off again in the grand final the winner of that vote was going to be their premiership jumper.

It has to be a condition now of all AFL clubs that when designing a clash jumper it has to pass the "Can we have a premiership photo in this jumper test?"

None of the crows ones passed that test so they had to revert to the original one.

I cant see Richmond ever changing their clash jumper now, it is such a part of their history that any discussions on changing it would have to get a heavy response from the members.

I'll believe it when I see it (pleeeeeese let me see it!)

If someone can send a current photo of Eddie we can confirm, any face color above light red will mean he is annoyed about something to do with Port wearing that as an alternative jumper.

Emailed Melbourne about the new jumpers and when we will see them along with any changes to the design based on 2017 and here is the response I received:

Hi Cody,

Thank you for contacting The Demon Shop.

Our supplier for our on-field gear New Balance, have unfortunately delayed the delivery of our 2018 stock and yes they will be, it’s a different style every year.

We hope to have it in by February, sorry about the inconvenience.
Hopefully an end to the Bingtan.

I think our yellow clash was safe anyway even if we didnt win a flag in it

Its simply a reversal of the home strip and no chance we would have had another clash down the track. Richmond has for a long time left jumper experimentation to the nab cup and I couldnt give a toss if we wore a pink tutu in the nab cup
