I think we'll have to wait to see these live, but that stitching like really breaks it up and kind of ruins the flow of the jumper.
It is hard to screw up a sash jumper, and somehow they succeeded making the front sponsor seamless, but then added more unneccesary front seams lol.

Oh my, the logo is stitched on... but badly



Anyone have any idea if the visible stitching is an intentional throwback or something?

Gibbsy I'm sure Adidas ran with a piped collar for a little while, similar to the Puma/Richmond one.
I know they did for Hawthorn in 2015, but I can't find any images.

Unfortunately UA again miss the execution.

Yep, knew I wasn't going crazy. It was more prominent with the Hawks jumpers given them and Essendon had different collars but it was definitely there for Essendon. If anyone can date this photo that would be awesome.

The trim on the collars looks clean, however having it on the cuff too is just jarring. Not to mention it's inconsistent with the collar trim. An almost good jumper, but slight issues with the piping too.

I totally forgot this red piping! I guess it was a pretty forgettable time for the club in general. This new iteration looks much better IMO.

That Essendon stitched logo looks like it's manufactured separately and heat pressed on, unless it's an invisible stitch we can't see?

Yeah i noticed that, it bothered me initially, but the stitching makes me sad ;(

but refusing to depart with a 25 year old logo, even if it means convoluting your brand by co-mingling with the introduction of a new logo that for all intents and purposes was introduced as the new logo for the club - is the most Essington off field thing ever (except for... y'know...)
