TRUMP 2024 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's valid because it was the literal reasoning as to why Essendon wouldn't use an inverse or come up with a decent clash design. It’s pretty over used by now

I presume for away games against: Richmond, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne.
bold of you to include carlton, collingwood and richmondI presume for away games against: Richmond, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne.
Yeah, zero chance they wear it against any of the other big 3 Victorian sides.I presume for away games against: Richmond, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne.
The AFL will say when it is worn. Richmond VS Essendon. Essendon was the away side that game and they wore red jumper. It is what the AFL say for what game.Yeah, zero chance they wear it against any of the other big 3 Victorian sides.
They absolutely should be, but they won’t.

Collingwood do wear a white version as a clash jumper for away games against port adelaide for example. No offence but you're really small and simple minded if you think the AFL have most of the day when it comes to the Big 4 Victorian clubs wearing away/clash jumpers against each other. Collingwood are the only ones who buck that trend.
Richmond literally wore their yellow jumper in a Grand FinalNo offence but you're really small and simple minded if you think the AFL have most of the day when it comes to the Big 4 Victorian clubs wearing away/clash jumpers against each other. Collingwood are the only ones who buck that trend.
It's incredible to me that a Port supporter of all people doesn't understand that the AFL decides what uniforms clubs wear. Like did you miss all that shit about the prison bars? They don't make Carlton/Richmond/Collingwood/Essendon wear clash jumpers when they play each other (with some exceptions) because they want there to be a degree of prestige and historic rivalry in those games which are automatic blockbusters no matter the standing of the teams, and they see the traditional jumpers as a part of that history that they want to maintain continuity with. If the AFL saw the Port Adelaide Football Club and its onfield identity as an important part of the history of the game that they want to maintain continuity with, they would let Port wear the prison bars. It's an unfair double-standard, and it's reflective of the biases among the top brass of the AFL, which parts of the game's history they think are important, etc. But at the end of the day, if they decided those jumpers didn't matter, they would make Carlton wear white against Richmond and Carlton would have absolutely no recourse. No offence but you're really small and simple minded if you think the AFL have most of the day when it comes to the Big 4 Victorian clubs wearing away/clash jumpers against each other. ahemRichmond literally wore their yellow jumper in a Grand Final
Not what I said.Collingwood do wear a white version as a clash jumper for away games against port adelaide for example.
Collingwood wear it. As you mentioned.ahem
"...when it comes to the Big 4 Victorian clubs wearing away/clash jumpers against each other."
Against.
Each.
Other.
It is a clash. How are they not?Collingwood wear it. As you mentioned.
Collingwood and Essendon play each other in ANZAC round which usually has a special guernsey.
Essendon and Richmond play each other for Indigenous Round and have special guernseys.
That leaves Richmond v Carlton and Essendon v Carlton. You have to be Stevie Wonder to think these clash.View attachment 2184856View attachment 2184857
To avoid clashing with Geelong and North.Still baffled as to why the Club changed from that.
To avoid clashing with Geelong and North.
Both teams wore (and still wear) predominantly White jumpers.
Collingwood changed to Black with White stripes to avoid the clash as much as possible, while still retaining enough White to not clash with Essendon, Carlton & Richmond. At the time they changed StKilda's jumper was mostly Red.
Stop using logicIt would simply be nice to see the Vic clubs break tradition and wear a clash jumper in rivalry game. Not exactly like there's many people left who remember when Essendon or Carlton were successful anyway.
I've never heard this argument for why Carlton uses their home guernsey. Ever. Not exactly like there's many people left who remember when Essendon or Carlton were successful anyway.
I'm calling it now.Anyone know anything on Adelaide’s clash? Are we keeping it the same or if not has anything been leaked?
