New Lions Away Jumper is here

[Full Wingspan]

This is indeed the jumper.
The pink on the Vodaphone logo does not appear on the real thing.
This jumper will be worn against Geelong, Carlton, Essendon & Richmond at games down here in 2008, the AFL has approved these games.

It will not be replacing the white favourite.
The jumper will not be worn in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney or any other regional games as well as any other game that the AFL instructs the club to be wearing the white jumpers.

I have a picture of 3 of our players modelling it, but ain't IT savvy enough to post it (out of respect for the club I can't really anyway!!! till after TFS).

Its based on the 1996 Fitzroy colours & is quite bright in real life. The socks will be the old Fitzroy red with a blue top. The package when together comes up well.

I think its a great compromise, & hope it achieves what the club intended it too.

I must say that, I'm quite happy with it ( The away Guernsey) I think it shows that even though we have been our OWN team in the AFL for the past 11 seasons, We still have respect for the fact Fitzroy merged with us.

Yes I originally supported the Brisbane Bears, But still to this very day it saddens me that the Fitzroy Lions are no longer their own football club.

This Guernsey might not be the most original of designs BUT it represents not only Brisbane but Fitzroy aswell and for that I say Well done Brisbane!!!

PS It is 1000 times better than that "clash" Guernsey if they could get rid of that. That would be great

Well I think the new Guernsey looks good however I don't think it was worth the build up, after all it really is is the Brisbane Guernsey with red and not maroon.

It is good to see Brisbane puting in some effort to their Victoria members, but for me as a Full Brisbane Lions Victoria Member with only GA seating at the Dome on level 3 I won't be able to see the Guernsey anyway.

I think the fact it went on sale today would've allowed given them the ability to do it I feel, even though it was passed it off as being revealed on TFS

so will I... I am a Brisbane Lions supporter without the Fitzroy connection and I go to mainly Melbourne matches. I want to still be able to see our great jumper (with maroon, not red) that we won our 01, 02, 03 premierships in. I think we should be moving forward, not backwards. Leave the Fitzroy and Bears jumpers for heritage round.

I sank one from well outside the circle in the warm up, so I knew I was in for a big night.

KL and I are dominating up forward. If Evan wasn't such a Jared Brennan lair in the centre, we'd have doubled our score!

It does look fantastic.

But those who said no-one will ever be 100% pleased no matter what we do is exactly right. Look at this comment by the Fitzroy secretary Bill Atherton in today's CM:

"It's not bad and should play a role in keeping the Fitzroy supporters of the Brisbane Lions pretty happy".

"But I am disappointed that our famous FFC monogram, which was originally designed back in the 1880s, and was on the Fitzroy jumper from 1939 to 1996, has been replaced by the lion."

Are you kidding? It's a Brisbane Lions jumper. It was never going to be the Fitzroy strip.
