Even though I'd like Taranto he may not have been there long enough. Baker seems like someone who would improve with the captaincy. Could be the perfect captain for Richmond. A good mix between cotchin and Newman

Baker is the man for many reasons and the support of ex captains in our coaching staff will be perfect for him at this time

I would love Taranto or Baker as a sole captain, but I just wonder would the club really take the captaincy off Nankervis at 29 and with only a couple of years in the job? I could see Dylan stepping down and Nankervis being either solo captain or partnered with someone else, but I can’t see him not being captain.

What does everyone else think? Would the club really consider taking the captaincy off Toby?

Absolutely, Nank is an inspiring speaker lol. But speaking isn't everything, neither is disposals or goals

I would think that the best captain brings more to the group and performs at a higher level when wearing the cap.

From the outside looking in, both Grimes and Nank didn't add anymore than when they weren't

Cant have a captain who is borderline no 1 ruck. Was debatable the last couple of seasons. As you said 29, you dont want a tom jonas port situation which i can easily see happening with nank

The impact this guy has around the ball with his follow up and pressure etc, not to mention his ability to push back and chop out our backline is being severely undersold.

We are a much, much, much better football side with Nankervis in it.

I agree with all of that, except I will say, he gets slaughtered at Centre Bounces, which puts us on the back foot straight away, and I don't think we are good enough at the moment for that to be the standard.
