As a fan of the club I'd have to say Pendles will be the guy playing the Buckley role, IMO.

Thomas plays his own role as a gamebreaker and excitement machine. I don't think he is our next captain though.

Thomas has seriously got to be the first player that's pretty much rated and even overrated by all opposition supporters. Maybe it's the blond locks?

Early on in the season I was a huge wrap for H. Shaw, but Nick Maxwell reminds me so much of G. Brown.

I think he is over rated by opposition fans at times because they don't seee much of him and he is such a big game player, chances are they are watching him on a big stage where he lights it up and they don't see the stages where he drifts out of the play

Totally agree. He really is an impressive person, a natural leader by the looks of it. And it's disappointing reading some supporters on here saying he's not a good enough player to be captain, he's tradeable??

Geez, bit harsh. I think he's going to be a fantastic player for years to come.

I wouldn't rule out DT either, speaks very well and just loves getting out there and having fun... would love a captain to have his enthusiasm.

I don't think there is anyone who doesn't admire Maxwell the tradeable and not a good enough player is more in reference to the fact that he doesn't demand a spot on the field. There are better defenders and better fowards then him. As such he is a player that could be traded with out destroying future structure (except for his leadership.)

I would choose Lockyer for the next two years while Maxwell is "groomed" for the position.

Lockyer would have been captain by now but for his broken leg.
I think Maxwell has all the qualities to make a great, long term Captain.

I just don't see Tarkyn being a long term captain. I'm a huge fan of his but I think Clement will get it for two years then (hopefully) Maxwell, Shaw or Pendles will get the job long term.
