I’m quite disappointed to see the Stars haven’t given Kellaway a go in the top 3 or 4. Not the same talent wise but the whole team is dross and he has demonstrated his chops in the shield with a ton 3 weeks ago.

He shouldn’t be batting 9 and bowling chop out overs when the game is already over.

The most exciting part of Konstas innings to me was both the power, but also the array of shots. Scored all around the ground with shots to different areas from balls pitched in similar spots.

Will be difficult to bowl to as he isn't limited by his shotmaking and has multiple scoring options in most situations so tying him down won't he simple.

I like Konstas and he will be a good player but it's so hard to compare when he is hitting Matt Short and James Bazely around Manuka.

From the same players/CA media that said Marsh was good to bowl as much as we needed?

Least we don't need Head to bowl well hold that thought he was better than our front line spinner

McSeeney does not at all seem a number 5 to me. Top 4 or bust i feel.

Do agree, but the top 5 are set, two have made tons and he's not batting 3 over Lab. Don't hate the idea of going what has worked in the past, starting these young bats at 6 then moving them up. Ponting started at 6.

He was belting Siraj and co around in the A game too to be fair. I do feel he'll be better in 12 months though so I'm not against Hunt being the one if they make a change, more ready and Hunt is very good against spin too with the SL tour half in mind

He'd certainly need to bat top 4, not much of a ball striker from what I've seen.

Should bat where Stoinis is but as if the Rig will lower his ego and let that happen it’s one of the biggest issues with the Stars

You don’t see Turner for the Scorchers batting at 3 because his ego says he has to. One team is successful

What I like is he showed he's a class above them. If he was fighting his way to a run a ball 30 against them then yeah that's good but not exciting, but instead he dominated the attack to score the fastest ever Thunder 50. Some bloody good t20 mercenaries have played for the Thunder and he cruised in on debut.

Sam Konstas is the most likely to become a generational talent then any other player currently but at the end of the day he could easily fall off the cliff also, his only had a handful of good games.

Considering McSweeney and Uzzie are scoring fudge all opening, why not give Konstas a go, if he scores heck all....what's new?

Ideally not really ready and he will benefit another year of shield cricket. Opening against Bumrah is not the area I’d really want to debut a 19 year old opener

Is it just sheer coincidence that so many of the next cabs off the rank are injured at the same/wrong time?
Hardie, Neser come to mind. Richardson is obviously plagued. Matt Kelly is it from WA?

Not sure just unlucky we have a few it’s not the bowlers I’m worried about. Doggett is in great form

Nah. He's a middle order bat, his best performances for SA have come from batting 4. He's 4-6.

Asking McSweeny to bat out of position against some crook shouldered demon and then turfing him after 3 tests is some absolute banana republic stuff.

Realistically, if he continues to bat well in shield, will get another chance soon with so many of our batsman out of form/cooked.

Particularly when the likes of Khawaja, Marsh and even Marnus continue to stink it up.

CA abandons Comm Bank sponsorship in favour of Westpac. Let's see if they are offering the same level of investment for the future cricketers programs.

Would certainly think and hope so.

Given they’re not really picking the proper all rounder at the moment anyway I would have half a mind to go Konstas, Uz, Marnus, McSweeney, Head and Smith in that order going into Boxing Day, there’s a world where they both play and they both bat in their preferred position.

every chance that this time next year konstas, mcsweeney, and inglis should all be in the top 6 in the current test side

they'll be 20, 26, and 30 going into boxing day 2025

if the u/19 world cup victory was anything to go by earlier in 2024, we have some genuinely exciting quicks to come thru in the ensuing years to replace the awesome foursome of starc, hazlewood, cummins, and lyon
