every chance that this time next year konstas, mcsweeney, and inglis should all be in the top 6 in the current test side

they'll be 20, 26, and 30 going into boxing day 2025

if the u/19 world cup victory was anything to go by earlier in 2024, we have some genuinely exciting quicks to come thru in the ensuing years to replace the awesome foursome of starc, hazlewood, cummins, and lyon

Sam Konstas... goodness

Don't know what to make of this
Take it for what it is - great entertainment

Is it sustainable over time? History says No…but who knows?

Would I coach it? No way

Does it stand up technically? Split grip and a gap between bat and pad…No

Is it effective? Today yes.

Is it replicable/reliable? Computer says No

More ? than answers

Ridiculous.

It clearly works for him - the idea that every player has to be coached to be a clone is a big reason for a lot of juniors deciding to chuck the game in.

It's part of the reason Australia will never produce a Bumrah - he probably would have spat it at well meaning coaches trying to turn him into a side-on metronome.

We produced Konstas didn’t we?

I’ve gone to great lengths to explain my position but to label it ridiculous? 🤦‍♂️

I will admit to have never seen him bat until a week ago - but I read another poster on here say that he has rarely played like that at shield level. Good to hear if true, means he's adaptable. Travis Head is our only bat at the moment who can properly get out of second gear. Super raw but he's exciting!

Yep

Who knows where this will lead but I'll be tuning in to find out, as will the rest of Australia
