Seniors.
First Semi: Montmorency vs Bundoora. Well, how different these two teams have found themselves in the first semi. One on a four game win streak and the other displaying some indifferent form at the wrong time. The Magpies have shown better overall form during the season and probably can be forgiven for last week's shocker, while the Bunnies just got across the line last week. The Bunnies will certainly miss inspirational captain Croughan. This is the fifth time these two teams have met in a finals match with the Bunnies having taken all previous encounters. But Saturday may be the time that the Magpies break their duck. The Magpies by 21 points.
Second Semi: Heidelberg vs West Preston. To many a surprise match-up on Sunday, but the Roosters have been in the top three all season as they try to reverse the disastrous result against the Tigers just four weeks ago. But finals are a different ball game with the conditions and weather likely to be an influencing aspect. The conditions may be to the Roosters favour, but the more finals hardened senior Tiger players should be able to put their team into yet another grand final. The Tigers by 41 points.

An interesting match-up with these two teams never having met in a finals match before and Bundoora coming off a solid first semi win and West Preston returning after taking another pasting from Heidelberg. You wonder if the Rooster players really want to win this one and face the might of Tigerland again. This I think may be weighing on their minds as they try and overcome a now confident Bunnies outfit. The Roosters have won both meetings this season, albeit by slender margins, but I think the finals hardened Bunnies should win this one by 15 points.

Reserves.
Heideberg vs West Preston

So it came down to the last game and now there is no separating the winners.

Congratulations to both LGIO and the Rat. Proven best tippers if the NFL

So, have the Tigers strangled all discussion and tipping on the grand final ?

A Grade.
Well, it's the Big Dance and I'm sure that at the commencement of the season many pundits would not have had these two performing on the final day. Certainly Heidelberg were everyone's pick to make it but not many would have penciled in West Preston.
With some astute recruiting and a little luck in the run to the grand final, the Roosters have the opportunity to cause the biggest upset in DVFL/NFL history as they take on the red-hot favourite Tigers. The Roosters have a good blend of experience and youth but one wonders how their nerves will be as the siren commences the game against a Tigers outfit that features many perennial grand final players. While there are a number of names in the Tigers squad that many followers may be unfamiliar with they still have the nucelous of their previous premiership teams. Their goal-to-goal line of Finn, Nolan, Dobson, Hall and Caddy just oozes class and will certainly give their Rooster opponents something to think about. I can see the Roosters having the opportunity of getting first use of the ball thru Meese in the ruck but can they retain possession and kick a winning score.

The Roosters have failed to crack the code on how to beat the Tigers over the last dozen or so matches and Saturday's game won't be any different, unfortunately. The Tigers by around 69 points.

And good to see that No-Action Kev's little boy has got a gig as one of the field umpires. Obviously no nepotism there.
