Great weekend of footy results looks to have raised some much needed life into the division. Are Banyule too reliant on one bloke? Are Morang the favourites now? The race for the 4 is down to 5 will it be west heidelberg or Epping? Or could they both make it and push the early favourites st marys out? Poor reservoir won't win a game IMO and Mernda have lost 6 in a row

Maybe need someone closer to the club to explain it in detail, but from afar it's clear they've lost 2 key players thanks to the NFL Russian roulette panel, while the rest would seem to be missing through injuries. The ruckman Carter has been missing since the 2nd or 3rd game. I hear they have up to 8 or so regular senior players out injured. Always hard to cover that when it happens to any club in any division.

I believe banyule are too reliant on one bloke who has kicked over 1/3 of their goals this season
South look the real deal
St marys just can't seem to beat a quality side other then h/west
Epping could be on their way back with players like Judd and Hughes getting back to form
H/west very hard to judge but great to see their improvement

What's everyone's thoughts for the top 4 and why

Well Lalorboy, I went & had a look at St Mary's & Morang, Morang look the real deal with the young fellas running on top of the ground & Bux's, Shelton & Raffa doing the body work along with the ruckman they have.
Hall, Dickson & Caruso are the ones to watch.

Banyule very top heavy. Will be interesting to see how the next banyule v morang shapes up without their superstar rata.

Couldn't agree less about Banyule being top heavy. Saturday was the third time I've seen them this year and this was by far their lightest side. Their younger guys were far too easily bumped off the footy and at times looked intimidated by the bigger Epping boys. If anything, they lacked heavy bodies.

According to a few of their reserves guys, Kroussoratis is away for the next two and then back after Banyule have their next bye.

I can understand everyone talking up West as a good news story and their win at Epping a few weeks back will be one of the best (in any division) of the season but Epping are a dark horse.

My prediction:

Morang - won't lose another H&A game
Banyule - will only lose to Morang from here on
St Mary's - won't move up or down from where they are
Epping - easy run home and will time their run

West - big improvement year for them but their run home is tough
Kilmore - improved out of sight but still a way off the sides above
Mernda - will write this year off because of injuries
Lauirmar - exceeded expectations
Reservoir - hopefully they can get a win before the end of the year.

I think St Marys and West to battle for 4th spot. Both similar fixture heading towards end of season, epping will finish 3rd with their light run home

If St Mary's where to finish 4th and go straight out ..... the coach has to go after 4 y's with the so called best juniors coming through.....but is yet to delivery ......... on that note witch coach is under the most pressure to keep there job ????

I do think Ewart will help West in the second half of the season .

Recruiting may cost him just like Buckley with Wells and Mayne. Sullivan who didn't play and J. Buckley who did are way past their best. Fitting seeing Buckley in tge no.88 jumper, he looked like 2 fat ladies

Sounding like a broken record but i was concerned about there recruiting during pre-season Sullivan Buckley Keyes and O'Meara battled at other clubs last year

Keyes and OMeara were already at St Marys
Buckley and Sullivan held there own in Division 1 EDFL last year so not sure about the battled comment.

Will be interesting to see how the second half of the year pans out - St Marys have a bit of work to do if they want to compete with the top 2

Buckley and Sullivan wouldn't have got a game at Glenroy this year and Ross let them know along with flavel before joining Epping and proof is in the pudding he played a handful of senior games in the ressies before heading out to CD. O'meara wasn't getting a consistent senior game with wallan before moving across and the same with Keyes at North. Could be wrong but having a keen eye over this league for quite a while they wouldn't have been the type of players to push them deep in finals and build a div 2 campaign with.

Father Time catches up with everyone.

The beauty of this forum is everyone has a different opinion. Respect what your saying but i disagree. And i can categorically say the statement about Ross telling them blokes they wouldn't be playing is incorrect.

Anyway - time will tell.

I still think Banyule will be the team to beat come seasons end.

All one sided games this week.
West over Kilmore to end their season 7 goals
Banyule over Mernda to prove they can win without their prodigy 8 goals
St Marys over Laurimar easily to stay in touch with West and Epping 20 goals
Epping over Rezza to begin their easy stretch home 15 goals

Banyule over Mernda 12 goals
HW over Kilmore 3 goals
Epping over Ressa 25 goals
St Mary's over Laurimar 10 Goals

Best of luck to everybody

Sounds about right.
The only interesting thing now is who will finish 3rd and 4th.
