That will be interesting as for the next 12 months you would think the difference in the Hursbridge & North 19s team will be significant with one challenging for a possie in T5 in D1 & the other may nominate for D2. North have picked up about 10-12 from Bats 17s from 2023 plus players from other clubs.

It probably could dissipate but not for another two seasons & come 2026 who know where this MOU business will be.
One thing the AFL have cocked it up with one club having 2 junior clubs & other senior clubs nothing & not through lack of effort, they just don't have the demographic & players they recruit for 19s - 3 points.
Where's the logic in that?
Who has 2 junior clubs ?!?

Well thats why this new ruling was brought in so clubs can only have 1 MOU. Watsonia for example had Mill Park and Bundoora Juniors. They would have to get rid of one of them. It was mainly an issue in other comps.

So clubs that had no juniors of their own get penalised for looking at the future & building a relationship with junior clubs. The Yarrambat situation of working with other senior clubs worked fine & they were comfortable with it. I was at a league meeting earlier this year when it was announced that a senior Div 1 club had 5 MOUs the AFL recognised but that was totally wrong where they had just the 2. The AFL were looking at temporary MOUs from 5 years ago to base their decision. All clubs senior/junior filled in MOU forms in December 2022 that would have recorded the official register of MOUs.

Where is the logic in any of this??
Why should junior players be restricted to where they play senior football?
It makes no sense.
If a kid who is on the fringe of playing Coates League level but not quite there yet goes to a different club than his aligned club, he is penalised a point. Which makes it harder for him to get a game?
If a kid has played at multiple junior clubs he will have more points?
Absolute stupidity, I fail to see how this keeps young people playing football.
I understand senior players who are jumping around to earn big dollars at rich clubs should be penalised points etc.
But these MoU’s for kids coming out of juniors ( not elite talent pathways) restricts where they can play. Which I think is insane.

Did Yarrambat choose who they aligned with?
If so, what did Hurstbridge do better than clubs like North Heid and Panton Hill where Yarrambat juniors played this year?

Kids can still play wherever they like.

Be less than 10 mins away in the same council with access to 2 ovals and active 19s, women’s, seniors and reserves.

Then why have an MoU at all???
I understand that they can play wherever they want, but they get additional points if they don’t play at the aligned club. Therefore making it harder to get a senior game as a 2-3 point player.

ANOTHER great signing for Banyule with Darcy Bennett adding to the ruck/power forward stocks. Have has a seriously good off season so far and must be the big improvers in 2024 in Div 1. Well done to all the team at Beverly Road for getting it all together.

Chump.

They have had a great off season. Will win a D1 flag soon IMO. Not saying in the next 1 or 2 but are building nicely.

They have had the backing and sponsors for years.
Someone said months ago he and Hogan were leaving for a country club.
So definitely looks like he has left, just not 100% yet on the destination.
Though it appears Epping now the frontrunner.
If this true is hogan going along with him, if so all of sudden Epping are right in the mix

Financial figures are in the hard copies given out the AGM

They have hidden that for years and got away with it. All other leagues post it, NFNL, defient of CAV requirements love hiding their wet lunches and kickbacks from Preston.

However unless clubs kickback and ask why the financials are not public (and in accordance with CAV requirements) they get away with doing and hiding what they want.

I dont trust them, never have since old mate Floydey did his thing.
Just catching up with entries over the past month .Mr. Crane as an experienced contributor ,you should understand that you need to be careful with your comments . The detailed audited financial statements were distributed at the AGM and delegates invited to ask questions . They are audited by a respected local firm of chartered accountants. It is inappropriate to compare the current administration to the Floyd era .

Thanks for catching up Mr Expert, wonder what you are an expert in, wonder what seat you have at La Trobe.

I don't give a flying if it's inappropriate to say what I want on an open forum. If you do, awesome.

I have had issues with the financials of the NFNL for years. They may hand out at the AGM to the head nodding dills that run most clubs and bow down to them in case they get fined for wearing the wrong colour shoes to a meeting. But why not post online? If there is nothing to hide and respectable auditors have ticked off on it why can't the general punter read it.

Yes, we can start at Floyd. That should have been the trigger to make sure they never hide anything. Back when we had that remarkable farce called interleague games that cost over $100k and many league walked away due to costs (allowing NFNL to win.... seriously, what a joke, so many leagues had already seen that terrible waste of money and walked away) I asked then why are we paying so much and how is the money used, no answer. They just happily all got new tracksuits and polos and attended awesome lunches.

Many other leagues don't hide behind an AGM. They post their financials online; this took me three minutes.

We should know where every cent goes.

What NFNL get from playing at Preston?
What NFNL (and host clubs (Epping and Whit) get from hosting finals?
How much in fines poor volunteers cop for being 5 minutes late or some insignificant detail?
How much the Uni students cost that do the audits on the paperwork with the main aim of finding errors to allow fines from some poor volunteer with 8 other jobs to try and run a club?
How much is the lunch for the 'hard' workers at the GFs?

Clubs beg and plead to raise every cent, hardworking volunteers run raffles and beat the street to get sponsors. They should know where their money goes. Why not post it if it's all legit? Just cos you're an expert you may know, but us non-experts don't know.

And don't threaten me with needing to be careful with my comments here, unless there is a fine that the NFNL need paid to ensure the overpriced coffee they wonder over and get, near hourly, at the Uni has gone up in price and petty cash is short.....

Happy New Year d!ckhe@d. You think I care what random people on here say, f%ck me.
