Pat Flynn off the ground before halftime,
Allowing Greensborough first use of the footy, Greensborough looked very very slick

That verdict is still if they are the worst 2 teams you could Monty into that calculation

Interesting fixture on ANZAC day, start of the year I wouldn't have given Bergers a look in but Macleod haven't exactly started well under the new coach. Taking the loss against Mont with a grain of salt though with their best players all missing. Coburg don't have the bye this weekend either so they will be without their recruit ruckman. Legget is a gun but he and Macleod will struggle getting their onballers first use of the ball against the better ruckman in the competition, which there are quite a few this season.

Interesting looking at the 19s grading results over the past 2 weeks. Looks as if going by the results so far, there will be a few Div 1 teams ending up in Div 2 and visa versa.

Lower Plenty just outworked on Friday...
Even when they got the ball, they didn't work hard enough for their team mates up the ground, allowing Greensborough to pick the next possession off at will then off to the races they went.
They had patches where they were on top, but they only made that count in the second quarter really when they got it back to a goal or two.
Losing their big ruckman hurt a lot though.

Interesting take Leggett had played ruck round 1 missing the second game due to a wedding the recruit ruckman is yet to feature for Macleod this season

To be fair Flynn and Keys are probably 2 of the best players in the comp. When you take the quality out of any side let alone a club coming up a division it’s going to really hurt. That win early against Monty is golden in terms of relegation.

Macleod looked slow and disinterested at stages, has all those losses finally taken its toll? On the other hand Heidelberg looked pretty slick and well drilled!

Bound to have taken their toll, however from what I've heard, the issues might be with the new coach. Macleod and Ramsey were a perfect fit, how the group played for their coach as much as they did for as long as they did was very impressive, especially in this day and age with the money involved in local footy. It was always going to be a major job for a new bloke to come in and take over. Whether it's teething issues or something more, we will see over the season.
Taking nothing away from Heidelberg yesterday though, could have gotten a lot uglier than it did. Knocking off 2 of the Grand Finalists in the opening 3 games is a great start.

MacLeod were asleep at the wheel most of the first half and had Heidelberg kicked straight it would have been much worse.
Far better second half but damage was well and truly done

Mountain might be too high. Desire not there currently. They just need to get a win to get the ball rolling

Too good a side to say they are done already and it's only early days but genuine bad signs especially when desire is not there.
Amazing if Nth beat West Preston both grand finalists will start season 0 and 3.

Pretty apt description I reckon, pretty hard to keep punching when you're consistently challenged.

Easy in hindsight but firstly the Paynter will he/won't he go then I'm led to believe stripping the captaincy from Scooter put a few noses out of joint especially when replaced by co-captains who rumour has it both sat on the coaching selection committee.

From outside looking in their greatest strength, apart from being talented players is/was their unity. Strip that away and things can unravel pretty quickly. Having said all that I'm confident they'll find a way to get back in the hunt, too much talent on their list not to. Great challenge for the new coach

the new coach at Macleod should play burns and barden in the goal square. no 2 defenders in the comp will be able to stop that dynamic duo. Problem solved

The problem is deeper than that. New coach, new game plan, new players. It’s going to take some time to gel and this week against the yard stick might just be the game they need to reverse the slump

The Cougars are flying nicely underneath the radar.
What's happening with WPL? Saad kicked 7 of their 8 goals on the weekend.
