Anybody hear why Banyule, Lower & Eltham were pushing for it to go back to a top 4 with the league in Div2? Apparently was considered and denied

LOL why would those 3 sides want a final 5 system which gives all 3 of them a double chance?? Of course they are pushing for a final 4 - I call BS

Geez St Mary’s would be kicking themselves dropping that last game against Panton Hill. Would’ve been in the logjam on 28 points also and games against Fitzroy, lower and thomastown to come. Would expect them to account for Fitzroy and get done by lower… could’ve set up and huge final game against Thomastown

PH V Epping - nothing clash. No idea why no one is getting relegated PH 40 points. Quite a good year for PH imo.

Watsonia v Thommo - Thommo should win, good signs for Watsonia nearly knocking off panther. Thommo 23

Panth v Banyule - Eltham seriously need a win here but have failed to deliver against any decent side this year. Banyule 22

Fitzroy v StMary’s - I’ll be surprised if Fitzroy show up at all. St Mary’s 100

DC v Lower - lower easily 35 points

Not too sure about your PH tip. Looking on the NFNL website and Epping have some handy ins. Wouldn't be surprised if the Pingers get up there

Great to be back for round 12 and with the ladder being changed, it creates great excitement leading into finals, with only 1 game separating 3rd to 6th, and how St Marys must rue their last game loss to Panton Hill. Also I am sure Epping and Fitzroy stars breath a sign of relief with no relegation for 2021, and their spots safe for 2022.

Panton Hill (3-8) take on Epping (1-10) The redbacks are coming of their best win of the season after defeating St Marys last game and will look to make it 2 wins in a row. It's been a tough year for Epping but they do get back Baddeley-Kelly, Dufficy, Judd and Dunmore which strengthens their side. Going for a bit of an upset here, Epping by 8 points.

Watsonia (3-8) take on Thomastown (7-4), the Saints nearly pulled off the upset of the season going down to Eltham by 4 points in their last game so the Thomo Bears won't be going to AK Lines reserve thinking it will be an easy 4 points. Thomo are strengthened with the return of Hughes and Leonardis which will help them kick a winning score. Thomo by 25 points

Match of the day see Banyule (10-1) take on Eltham (7-4), with the Bears coming off their first loss will be interesting to see how they bounce back, Della Rocca, Loton and Stanton are all big ins for the bears. For the panthers this is a real chance for them to stand up and be spoken about as a premiership fancy if they can defeat Banyule on their home deck, last time they struggled to get goals againast the Banyule defence and I think it will be the same again tomorrow. Banyule to win by 27 points

Diamond Creek (7-4) take on Lower Plenty (10-1) and will look to take a big scalp out at Coventry oval. I have struggled to get a read on Diamo all season, yet they sit in 4th spot and if they can get a win tomorrow will most likely move into that all important double chance spot. Lower though have not put a foot wrong and were super impressive in their last start win over the previously undefeated Banyule, Lower by 19 points

Fitzroy Stars (1-10) take on St Marys (6-5), St Marys will be rueing their last start loss to Panton Hill and need to win and win well tomorrow over the Stars, too much to play for and St Marys will get the win by 45 points.

Great to have footy back and enjoy walking the dog and/or exercising tomorrow.

Great game of football at Bear paradise today - My dog got a heap of exercise!!!
They have a lot of grit Eltham but lack some class - I think that 6 points flattered them but I am biased
Looking at the round results they were all predictable but looks like St Mary's are positioning for a reserve premiership with who they are playing - Their reserves won by 230+ points but their seniors only won by 20 points LOL
Seriously boys a winning culture is more important than a seconds flag - Just my opinion

I’m actually gobsmacked they have removed relegation. Clearly Fitzroy deserve it

only reason i can think of is the fact the two bottom place teams haven’t vs eachother this year yet..

i agree with what was said few weeks ago tho that maybe epping and fitzroy drop down to get consistent reserves numbers and try get some 19s up.. and build up from div 3

but then again fitzroy played solidly today and epping pulled off a pretty decent win so who knows

Went down to Banyule yesterday, was a cracking game. The ground is in horrible condition but it didn't affect the game too much.

Was some really good battles across the ground. Thought Banyules fullback did a good job on Still who looked like he could have been in for a huge day early, and the small forward for Banyule who kicked 6 or 7 was a clear standout.

What was telling was how well drilled Banyule are. Once they get the footy in their defensive 50, they spread really well and it is very difficult to get the footy back off them. Were missing a few as well from what i was told after the game. If they can maintain that at Preston they will be very difficult to beat.

5 out of 5 this week

Was confident with the ins for Epping that they would beat Panton Hill. Good reward for the Pingers, especially winning both seniors and reserves.

Banyule get the points over the Panthers, similar scoring shots but will hurt Panthers with double chance.

The bears (Thomo and Lower) get the job done against Watsonia and Diamo.

St Mary’s get the 4 points but not the % they needed against the Stars, well done to stars for making it very competitive.

Makes the final 3 spots very interesting, Thomo, Eltham, Diamo and St Mary’s, who wants it?

Have to be Panther with Fitzroy and Epping to come.

Can’t see Thomastown knocking off banyule to hold that spot.
