Understand it has been mentioned a lot about Eltham’s youth. Only been raised I think because Eltham in the past they have had a tendency to play the older guys.

That hasn’t worked for them and what did was playing kids which saw them finish 17-1 and losing to a better side on the day. And before any Banyule supporters come for me, yes, Banyule are young as well.

I’m sure we’ll all be sick of hearing about Banyule’s rise to Division 1 after 8 years in the comp 😂

They’ve been saying they are young for 2 decades now.

Need to chase quality division 1 level recruits not D3 ones.

Northcote will be an interesting one. Do we expect them to be good?
Northcote have deep pockets and with a healthy list are going to be pretty hard to beat I imagine.

They won't want to hang around in Div 2 too long so I imagine will be having a big crack at recruiting this off season.

They have a long way to go before their list can be considered healthy. No 19s and their 2s have been poor for years. I back St Mary’s and Watsonia to leap frog them next season.

Leapfrog Northcote Park?
If they have the same list they did this year, those 2 teams wouldn't get within 10 goals of them. I'd say Northcote will be looking to recruit and if they do will be top 3 easily

They had Bundoora on toast for 3/4, can't imagine St Mary's or Watsonia doing that.

No doubt they have to recruit heavily to bolster their seconds but twos players are usually easier to attract when they know they aren't going to get flogged every week.

The fact that they already have the nucleus of of a Div 1 team, cash to spend, and the carrot of winning a flag to recruit will make them hard to beat.

D.C are still running around with half the team that lost to North 5 years ago so the standard can't have improved too much.

They once had very deep pockets, not so sure they do anymore.

Your 100% correct about the standard. In all Divisions the standard has dropped away. But we live in a different world to 10-20 years ago. So many other things people and kids can do.
Don't get me wrong its still a pretty good standard, just not what it used to be.

Does anyone know when team of the year usually gets announced. Thought it would’ve been done last night , or is it after Saturdays grand finals

Would have thought it would have been announced by now considering they've done the Womens comps (both netball and footy). Maybe they're waiting till after this weekend and will announce all 3 men's teams at once

Take that back

“I’m having a break from local footy, maybe it’s time to get my golf handicap down or try something a bit different,”
Money talks. Plenty of people have put golf aside to cash in. Would be interesting to know how the montmorency relationship was left.
