NFNL Div 2 discussion 2023

Reap what you sow Lower Plenty... Was the club not top of the table when the season was stopped in 2021 ? They've gone from a possible crack back at division 1 to looking at division 3.

Extremely troubling times for the club & it will only get worse, this coaching group won't be going beyond this year & you would be hard pressed to hold onto whatever player talent they have left if they go down.

Banyule were on top

Lower beat epping by 90 and 130 odd last year and how well and truely smashed by them.

Epping is hardly setting the world on fire either.

Hard to believe lower were a D1 side not so long ago.

Reap what you sow Lower Plenty... Love that

Massive fall for Lower Plenty, still to play Sth Morang and Eltham in next two games so percentage could take a big hit as well.
Still plenty of season to play out but if and it’s still an if they get relegated to division 3, what a shock that would be for the Lower Plenty faithful 🤣

Been very impressive, they have Lower Plenty and Panton Hill to round out first half of the season
Sounds like they have a few players headed overseas, not sure who they are but split those game (at worst) they turn 6-3 or 7-2 which means finals definitely on the cards for them

Troubling times. 2 wins between Seniors, Reserves and 19s after 21 games.

10571z very troubling times, I picked Lower to beat Epping but two comprehensive losses to Epping in both reserves and seniors has them in a world of hurt.
Like I said lots to play out out but if Lower due fall to division 3 it’s a massive fall from grace

I've mentioned preciously the predicament the club finds itself in, is mostly self-sabotage.

The club basically moved on the previous coach because the playing group didn't want him despite the recent success he had with the group.

The majority of those players who got the coach sacked then moved on 12 months later realising that the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. End of the day if they stood up to the playing group & told them to the coach is the coach who is having on field success I seriously doubt they would be where they currently are.

Let's not forget his unbelievable success at Greensborough (think it was 5 U19 flags and took seniors to a GF) and his success now as assistant at Banyule.

Guy clearly can coach.

100%. Guy has proven he can coach.

They lost a whole bunch and basically brought in 2 players Flynn and Alexander. Needed to recruit 10 to at least be competitive. No football manager during the recruitment period killed them.

Ripper fella too. Bit of a shame how the LP tenure ended

Absolutely agree.

Plunkett has done everything he can but to many in the background throwing knives.

Then they leave all because didn’t like his hard decisions.

They lost a few because of the past.

Problem is they don’t want to pay and want loyalty!!! That was gone when I played in the 80’s & 90’s.

Flynn has come back because of his love for the club. Alexander is medium forward for Ammos so NFNL is harder as he is a target for defenders.

They are playing guys that seriously aren’t up to it but are trying.

Don’t blame Plunkett because of the past ghosts finally coming out.

I don’t doubt Flynn ”loves” Lower but heard from a very very solid source they basically offered him an amount he couldn’t say no to, hence his return
