It’s funny because the feedback I’ve had around the traps is 14 games would be borderline ideal after covid.

16 worked well. 18 will simply drag on and with a few struggling clubs will be a real tough year towards the back end.

no byes either. Bad decision by the league IMO
Drag on?? God help them if they play first or second division. I’d hate for them to get bored and it drag on!

Any intra club practices matches coming up. Hanging to watch a game or 100. I know Mernda are having one this weekend looking forward to watching a local side play some footy.

Hope all clubs are tracking well during this pre season.

I believe the bloods are off to Yarraweoah in a couple of weeks for a hit out

Can you post times for people wanting to have a look.

Good luck for the coming season.
Turtles have some really handy players it will be a good hit out.
Looking forward to hosting the Turtles at Ivanhoe park under lights (twilight) Swooper. It will be a good test for our young group and also to dip our toe in the water to see what the NFNL Div 3 is like ;):D

Great to hear the Turtles are building nicely. Do we call this the Garrard/Ciavola Cup? Hollywood Bowl? ;):D

We have a couple of new guys this year joining us so it will be great for them to get a hit out with their new team mates. The past few years we have been very poor in a low grade, so looking to start the rebuild under the new coach in 2021.

See you in a few weeks.

Chump.

I really don’t rate Laurimar that highly. Especially losing Sherman.

I think Kilmore will be the side on top especially with the draw of the century
Not a huge loss.
My predictions for the upcoming season.

Top 2 (any order)
- kilmore
- laurimar

Fighting for 3rd-4th
- Eltham
- south morang
- West heildeberg
- mernda

Fighting for the number 1 draft pick
- reservoir
- lalor

went out on a limb here.

I’ll throw it around a bit tocreate some interest.

1st kilmore 2 games clear but won’t make the gf

2nd Laurimar natural progression to be there or there abouts will win the flag

3rd/4th Heidelberg West & Mernda both made strong moves pre covid. Mernda recruited well but lost a few quality players senior regulars that have gone under the radar, Dimech, duclos, Angelkovski, Sparkes, Dean, Marino, Tucker, Egberts.

5thMorang coming from a long way back in preparation but are young and talented but the loss of Shelton is extremely big also lost Brown Whybrow Giannone from gf side. Hall knee?

6th Lalor will improve slightly with older players nearing there end until they get ran into the ground at about round 8.

7th Turtles the NFL boost they received in enthusiasm appears to have worn off with the guys in green struggling for numbers in the track and a few ammo blokes slow to pick it back up. McKenna will do well but Malone is the biggest loss of any club. Who kicks there goals?

8th Reservoir have benefited from the cancelled season and have been able to bring a couple in on overs. They will pleasingly break there drought and sing the song but it’s very much a long term project to get off the bottom.

Dimech HUGE loss can't replace this type of talent easy.

Sparkes MASSIVE loss but family first.

Duclos big men don't grow on trees but when your points are up there up.

Aleksovski definitely a loss as he showed promise in 2019 and loves kicking a goal.

Tucker never seen him play can't comment.

These blokes are easily replaced
Dean, Marino, Egberts would've struggled to get a game in the 1's

Brought a heap of blokes in that have showed the can do it at a higher level and have the flags to show. Ill call it now Mernda will dominate all year and play off against Laurimar and it will be old time classic DVFL Granny.

They’ve got a few in but yes lost quite a few. Looks like they’ll fly out of the gates if they have already had 2 intraclubs but it’s a long season.
