This is the moment he reminded me of Pendles. Under pressure and had the poise to make that small movement to make his opponents go off their line so he could leisurely stroll out of trouble. You can’t teach that.

I think there should be more teaching and practicing of it with Aussie Rules, with it becoming such a game of congestion where the ability to create space is so vital. Basketball begins fake one way, go another, drills at a really young age, with technical instruction of how to make your fakes more believable. I don't know, but I suspect soccer would too.

Ablett Jnr, Judd, Dusty, Voss, Hird, Buckley .... we got one :D

... Swan Pendlebury.

I predict Best.

But not better than Ablett Snr, Carey, Dunstall, Lockett.

Sadly,I think about 22 players on our list have gone past Sidebottom as well.
Sidebottom has gone past Sidebottom. Ever since he left his team mates in the bubble he’s never come back. Didn’t really like that at all.

Nick Daicos undoubtedly a talent, but it’s a preseason game. Let’s consider that before getting too excited and setting the kid up to fail.

Sidey shouldn't be an automatic selection any more, he’s fallen off a cliff.

If we had a better spread of youth, particularly in that 21-24 age bracket I’d assume he wouldn’t be. Not too dissimilar to O’Bree and Lockyer etc in 2010 era.

Unfortunately most of our youth is still unproven and we can’t afford to play them all at the same time.

Ermm Carey the grub, Dustall the enforcer and Lockett the Full Forward? Really?? No comparisons are possible and his father was a decent human being who brought his sons up properly so a Carey comparison is just plain offensive.

Ablett Snr. is a fair point but there is a looong way to go yet so I wouldn't write it off.

We need to ensure that Daicos and Pendles are not in defence at the same time. One should be up the ground at all times - neither are overly defensive and it could get ugly if they are in the back 6 at the same time

Then we could have more Turnovers and Teams can't really Tag Both

Covering the air is a bit of a worry with Roughy and Maynard out. Pendles one weakness throughout his career has been reading the ball flight. When Maynard or Roughy are back, I'd be happy to play both of them, but would consider Pendles to mid and Crisp back to defence for the next 2 games.

Great point.I would rather Pendlebury stay back, and Nick play on the wing or half forward flank where he could do more damage going forward with his kicking skills.

Alas we have no choice/options

Not sure if anyones watched the AFL doco but a few scenes with Nick.

1) In relation to him being disappointed about not being pick 1. He felt he deserved pick 1.

2) He also was quite impressive in the running session they did prior to the draft.
