Oh come on, we can talk about it. It’s not going to stop the flogs. There are enough opposition flogs desperately hoping for and watching for every little mistake Nick makes. Do we really need to do it on here too? Fair enough if there are trends within games. But I find it pathetic that opposition dickheads are on the lookout for isolated moments where Nick is less than perfect.
If starts putting in JHF like efforts, then we can talk.
Lol he says it so casually just one of those players“One of those”…? There is literally no player who’s ever achieved those sorts of numbers regularly. Even peak Leigh Matthews went at about 27 disposals per game albeit while kicking boatloads of goals. Peak Ablett Jr had one season where he kicked 44 goals and had an average of 31 disposals.
The numbers you’re posting here would be unprecedented as far as I can see.
Ikr? Like yeah, you know, just one of those players who will become the GOAT by a comfortable margin. They pop up every few yearsLol he says it so casually just one of those players
The thing is you'll be applauding him when it works. A bit like Pendles at his peak, he won't always bodyline the ball, as he'll be thinking ahead about how to get clear afterwards. And it'll work more often than not, because he's so ****ing good.It wasn't the only instance it happened, it was just the instance it directly led to an opposition goal. Players that are actually hard at it though don't decide to stop going hard just because the games over, they do it start to finish because that's the right way to play the game. Especially if you wanna be a leader you don't get to switch off when you feel like it.
That’s the problem when you are so good so early on. People are going to look for chinks in his armour. He’s not perfect but pretty close.
Daisy Pearce was prattling on at halftime about the tactics to stop N. Daicos after his quiet second quarter. Never mind the fact that everyone sucked in the second quarter.
He was unbelievable when playing in the midfield and was clearly our best player. He should get at least two votes on Brownlow night.
He should have body lined the ball in that one contest, the replays will look bad. He also had 38 touches, 16 contested, 5 clearances and 2 goals. He will recover from it i think
That is one of our biggest weapons. Him starting the play on the last line of defence and then still being involved as it goes through the middle. As good as his skills are, I'm staggered at his work rate. He runs like Forrest Gump.
Wise manI put the Volume on Mute During Half Time
No no. He’s a seagull and JHF is the generational player from that draft. Or am I 12 months too late for that North supporter narrative?Daicos is a generational player. The bloke is only just 20 and putting up insane numbers.
Not sure if this year is his year, but he'll for sure win a Brownlow one year.
No it isn’t, the kid is already a top 10 player in the comp.It is a bit of a knock on the rest of the team that Nick is our best player every week.
A forward's dream! Surely one of the King brothers looks at his delivery and wants to give it a tryThe way that his kicks float from left to right and drops perfectly softly into the hands of the receiver is unbelievable
Nick is so bloody good that his mistakes stand out.
The contest in question last night to me looked like he was looking for someone to tap the ball out to, but it bobbled and he missed it.
As for mids to team him with, Ed Allan could definitely be a special one.
Ed was apparently pretty good in the VFL game, even though we got flogged.
Hopefully he'll debut soon.
I reckon Fyfe is gettable, might play for unders if we're in the window. Would be great for 2-3 yearsWe are going to need to really have a good look at who we need for the next decade and who we need to go after. Nick needs help and the likes of Adams and Sidey are not up to it any longer. I would think that their contracts would hold at least $1.4Mil combined. Some would need to go to Nick. Obviously, but I would think we need to bring in a bonafide midfield gun to help him.
Pendles can’t hang around for much longer. Maybe another year. We’ve really got to look at extracting a couple of gun mids or drafting one. Allan??? Too early. But yesterday showed that Nick is at another level to the others and really…..really needs help. He was by far best on ground. Can you image him and Ashcroft working together. Or Rowell, Anderson and Nick. Or Serong, Brayshaw and Nick. Yeah I know Pie in sky, but we have to look to supporting him with similar types of running mids that can feed off each other. Because the ones we’ve got aren’t cutting it. Pendles is trying and can see the light. The others are just to dim minded.
