Seen a lot of these comments.

Saints kicked 10 points. There's no way he took all the kick outs.

Shows you that people don't watch games, or can even be bothered to check the stats so it doesn't make them sound like a fool.

Can't wait for Kane Cornes to talk about how kick-ins shouldn't be a stat on every footy show he’s on this week.

Nick takes a few kick from fullback because he's the best at doing so.

If you're prepared to bag a player for an errant kick-in and, you are prepared to applaud the player for an effective kick-in, then you must acknowledge the stat to the player for taking said kick-in. Simples.

If the saints had have been more inaccurate Nick could have had 50. Selfish teams like the Cats who kicked 16.7 v us are really cutting into Nicks stat line. They should be stripped of points.

I can’t recall a second year player earning this much praise.

Thank God he’s got good parents and a father who will keep him honest and grounded.

Nick’s everything we hoped he would be. It’s a great time to be a Pies fan.

True although he gets the handballs by being at the right spot for receiving.
If it was as simple as you say anyone could do this..

The fact is that Nick is getting a lot of disposals. Given that he uses the ball well and is gaining big meterage it's hard to argue that they are not impactful disposals.

He's playing a role which makes it difficult for the opposition to shut him down, due to heavy running and switching. It's not up to us to put him into a more easily shutdown role, it's up to the opposition to find a way to deal with it.

There are even experts, Gary Lyon notably, who keep going on about how much space he has and that coaches aren't respecting him. Simply not true. Does he think coaches don't realise that he's damaging? They keep giving him votes. The role he's playing is just not that easy to deal with by a normal tag.

True enough when you run quite literally all game and furthermore switch with 2 or 3 players regularly it's virtually impossible to be tagged.

Just shows how sharp Fly is in crafting a role for a supremely talented, unbelievably fit but still slight 19 year old that makes full use of his prodigy talents but at the same time protects his still developing frame.

The one thing that people forget when they criticise Nick is that he is a 30 gamer and only 20 years old.

He knows he has deficiencies in his game (which are minor) and he continues to work on that. Contested ball being one. Imagine how good he’ll be when he’s 25.

In fairness he's also rated elite for hit outs "by position"!

But the Brisbane game showed he can win CP and clearances when shifted into the middle. Deciding where best to use him is a great problem to have.

FWIW he's averaging more CP than Luke Hodge did for 14 of his 18 seasons, but it really doesn't matter.

Being elite so early is huge value from a list perspective (similar to Pendlebury's longevity).

When he has 2or 3 pre season,s and 7 or 8 extra KG,s then he will be ready physically for a full time mid although I still will not want him at the coalface not with his disposal, that would be a waste.

I think Macrae harrison and Draper are the boys for inside mid Daicos and Allen using the ball.

He's never been an inside mid and I don't expect that to change.
Edward has. He will be a beast once he adds just a few KG.
I like Macraes chances as well.

I think Nick could be an inside mid, as in add inside ball winning to his arsenal. He will never be a Joel Selwood type, and you wouldn't want him to be. Inside mid as a prospect development pipeline is an issue though 100%. Ed Allan is the great white hope obviously, and is easily the most important prospect we've got not playing AFL. Macrae has the skillset, but does he have the ability to make good decisions under pressure at AFL level? Jury is out.

Also getting upset about the Daicos slander makes no sense. It's actually great, because it only happens to the good ones. It's just an indicator of his impact as far as I'm concerned.

I think we’ve got more than enough developing inside mids with Macrae, Carmichael and Allen. I’m happy for Nick Daicos to develop his contested game, but he doesn’t need to hit the coal face. His outside run is more important.
