ND’s awareness is striking. Watching him live he’s always working, getting to the right spot, offering an option to escape or knowing where the next best placed player is and hitting him up. And this all happens at speed. We know that can’t be taught - it’s innate.

Edit: I’m not sure his teammates are fully utilising him yet. But that will come.
Some of his handballs when under extreme pressure are sublime. He did another in the last quarter to Sidey in the blink of an eye when under severe heat. I think he has surpassed my expectations already and that passion for the jumper is so stirring. He loves playing for Collingwood!

I'm sure his team mates are still getting his positioning and running patterns into their psyche - anyone who has played team games to a decent level understands much of the decision making process is subliminal and almost sub conscious.

Part of this is 'exposure time' - once that hit's critical levels it will start working to his advantage.

Hope we are not breaking him for wins...suggestions it will need surgery end of the year.

Why risk it on a up coming star for us and in a year that was meant to be about "development", pushing for finals instead...
Because we exist to win games of footy.

We exist to win flags.

We don't exist to potentially cause further injury to a key player in our next flag tilt at 19 years of age.

I’ll leave it to the medical experts to determine the best approach. Some injuries can be managed until the end of the year without risk of getting worse….where minor surgery is needed to correct the problem. This sounds like the situation.

If rest helps, great, maybe he needs a week off …… but the club doctors know more than you and I.

Yeah well I'd imagine it puts more strain on other areas of the body hence increasing risks of other injuries.
