Yeah, more info would have been nice. We knew all that from the leaks. Even a release date would have helped. Seems a bit vague on whether Switch 1 game carts are back compat or just digital too.

Hoping the joysticks are hall effect but won't hold my breath.

Yeah it was a bit underwhelming, most of the trailer was just slowly animating the thing and showing minor differences. Also not sure about the less colourful look. Assuming the red and blue was the default on the OG and my memory isn't faulty, it was pretty iconic. All dark grey looks a bit more generic amongst the other handheld offerings.

Yes I know thats a pretty small thing, and they probably want the new console to not appear too toy like, but it kind of reminds me of how all the McDonald's buildings were once more fun and unique styled before going to boring all corporate samey looking. Anyway no doubt there will be a billion colour choices/combinations later on same as the OG

My og joycons are still kicking, no "drift" to speak of (and I know what stick drift is, having experienced it with multiple xbox controllers and 1 ps5 controller). However they only function as "1" controller when separated (only just discovered this a few weeks ago). Can't re-sync them for that purpose either, tried the instructions and it won't work. They lost the LED light function years ago too.

Really? How long do they need to drop this thing?

Get ready for another xx months of hype before it's fully unleashed in December! :p

That video screamed they kinda put it out to stop the rumours didn't really help much.

No idea why they can't release more details.

Must be that they're going to be relatively underwhelming and don't want people shitting on it in the lead up to launch later in the year.

Nevermind me, showed it to the wife who is the biggest child at heart, and she much prefers the new one :tearsofjoy:

I had one JoyCon go bad, but when ahead and replaced the joystick with a GuliKit hall effect replacement kit.

I’ve been using the Switch since day 1 and must say I’ve been refreshing twitter every 20 minutes for the news to drop.

All for that to be slightly underwhelmed with the trailer.

Then I actually wondered what I wanted different about the new switch. It’s actually almost perfect in my eyes, still play it regularly, 99% portable.

The fact that it’s bigger, I’m sure the specs will be an improvement, it’ll come with a new home screen layout that’s surely an upgrade.

It’s a tick from me initially even though I wasn’t sure what to expect post announcement.

Spewing that’ll I’ll be in Japan early May, was hoping for it to be released so I could get my hands on their version.

The gap between now and April is to let all the third parties announce their stuff for it.

I have a feeling they wanted to announce it around Feb but leaks forced their hand. I saw the whole console a week ago.

Pretty underwhelming reveal imo. All that pretty much just to show its a little bigger.
Conservative I'd say.

Bigger.
No joy con rails.

Would have liked a different console or dock design. Make it unique.

New Mario Kart launch title, and it seems like the Joycons have a mouse sensor - great news for RTS games.
Now that's an interesting feature. Hopefully it works well.

Another complaint from the switch I had was the bezel size and it looks like its no better this time around either. :(

No doubt I'll end up buying one though as I always do.

Was it a new mario? No information was given I just assumed its another Mario kart 8 expansion.

Would assume Mario Kart 9 is one of the first heavy hitter titles Switch 2 will be launched with.

Assuming along with a new (or remake) of Zelda, Metriod, new Animal Crossing game etc

The Nintendolife website is very good if you want more info on the specifics of Switch 2

New track, seemed like 20+ racers, and Mario's face looked different. Nothing concrete, but it is a safe option for a launch title (maybe alongside Metroid Prime 4). Been 11 years since MK8 was released.

It would be insane if it’s not their number 1 launch title & they still put it in their promos.

Has the reveal been rushed out due to the leaks?

Seems very odd to put that together just to announce a Direct 3 months down the track for substantive details.
100%

This is just to shut people up before the April Direct.

I think there's another Switch 1 Direct in Feb. Maybe WWHD?
