I thought that most prize money is the same. It used to be that the men got paid more prize money than the women but I was of the understanding that most majors had equalised the winnings.

They are paid the same but men play the best of 5 sets while women play the best of 3 sets so that means that women get paid the same amount of money for less work.

A quick google search says you're right I think that the women have put one over the men on this one. One of the few professions were technically women get paid more than men.
