I never thought I'd be saying this in my lifetime, but I'm keen to see how we go against the Afghani bowlers. Their 3 front line spinners may trouble a few of our batsmen who want to attack & attack.

Also, IF they beat Sri Lanka & the Dutch in their next 2 games, they may still be a sneaky semis chance come the time of the match-up.

Four hours to bowl 50 overs. 12.5 overs an hour. A form of the game that is meant to be action plus moves slower that Test cricket. Get on with it!!!!
Yes. The best thing about the English team in this comp is how they've managed to wrap up their matches so quickly.

At this rate you could watch the first over of an ODI, watch from the first siren to last siren of the '75, '77R, '96 and '99 Grand Finals and still have time to watch the last half dozen overs of the run chase.

If a good team (not England) get over 300, and a good team (not England) makes some sort of fist of chasing them down then the game nudges 9 hours from start to finish - pretty tedious when the chasing team usually gets nowhere near it.

I really don't understand what has suddenly gone wrong with England. Have been the best at short forms of cricket for years now. Now their test team is getting better again and the wheels have fallen off the one day team

Hubris, ageing guns and the fact they play very little 50 over cricket.

All 13 teams in the ODI Super League played 24 games between 2020 and 2023, except Afghanistan (18), Pakistan and India (21 each).

I think they've just been poorly coached and made some strange selection decisions (hello, Ben Stokes).
