This is gonna sound odd despite what this team has just achieved but I don't think they played near their best cricket in this tournament. We had individuals do well in matches to get us over the line but it was having that long batting line up that's played a significant role in getting us the end result.

Outstanding preparation by the off field staff and leaders, looking so well prepared for each and every batsman.

Captain Pat was superb.

Labuschagne solid as a rock and cool as can be right when we needed to silence that crowd.

Aggressive, but composed cricket all tournament. I wasn’t worried pre-match because we just know how to win the big dance when it matters. A small part of me feels sorry for the average Indian fan. India’s team is extremely formidable, but we flogged them in the end.

I’ve read this morning about it being one of the best - compared to Mark Taylor’s team beating the Windies there. India were unbackable, and Australia had to play well enough to beat them, they weren’t undone by nerves or anything.
