A small part of me feels sorry for the average Indian fan.
Um nah. They have all the humility and self awareness of a Carlton supporter.

Stunned by this result. The look on the faces in the crowd when Kohli chopped one back.. Like a funeral.

Beautiful stuff.
A bit harsh KC - impossible to hate Indian cricket the way I feel about Piers Morgan

You can certainly hear the crowd hushed when Australia got on top - it’s such a massive contrast to their usual boisterous output - but also the Australian commentators/fans are overdoing it a bit. You can literally see the Indian crowd applauding Head reaching his century as Howard or someone says there isn’t a sound in the stadium.

Night shift last night, stayed up all night watching then right as Head is about to make his ton…BAM! Building fire in Docklands, don’t get back to station until 5:00am 😢

That being said we couldn’t have played that much better. Bowling was the best I’ve seen all tournament and the Trav and Marnus masterclass was beautiful to watch!

Had a strange feeling the bowling would come together tonight, just wasn't sure about the batting.

On the downside, Matthew Hayden and that Port Adelaide Wolf Creeker in the crowd were a bit cringeful.

Only a bit cringe?

It's a big field but Haydon would be up there as the worst commentator that has ever been and that includes Michael Clarke.

Australian twitter was united in It's disdain for him last night.

We had no right winning that with how well some of the other teams were going throughout the tournament.

But we did the Aussie cricket thing and made the most of our chances, got it done when it needed to be done, and some absolutely stunning individual performances to drag us over the line a few times.

Winning a premiership from 8th is still a premiership, just takes a shit load more effort!

Absolutely. Peaked at the right time. Sensational win, especially over there.

Sounds like Head was fantastic but the lion's share of credit has to go to the bowlers. Shut the crowd up and set a very very gettable target for a great batting line-up.

And Cummins captaincy. The way he rotated his bowlers so not to allow the Indians to get settled was awesome. In one 10 over period not one bowler bowled a spell longer than one over.

At least the Indian crowds can take solace from the fact that they are absolutely elite when it comes to creating hand written cardboard signs that are of uniformly poor quality. No-one's taking that crown off them anytime soon.

Validating to hear that. He came across like a nong. That big dumb pisshead you knew 2nd hand that you'd run into on a night out back in the day.

Slaps everyone on the back too hard, is into every sport yet doesn't seem to know much about any of them and eventually causes the girlfriends in the group to cluster somewhere else or quietly organise early exits.

Harsha showed grace to let "Dos" think he was some kind of Johnny Carson last night.

And I say that as a parochial "Lol India" Australian.

For some reason this made me laugh out loud:

...David Warner in particular diving and hurtling after balls in these games like he was chasing a lost youth.

I’ve read this morning about it being one of the best - compared to Mark Taylor’s team beating the Windies there. India were unbackable, and Australia had to play well enough to beat them, they weren’t undone by nerves or anything.

If anything, that was Aus advantage. All my Indian friends were so nervous, constantly talking about 2003. India may have been served well to have lost one group stage game - going in undefeated, 130k spectators, at Modi stadium with Modi in attendance, home series/final, with all expectations of 1B people was just too much for them.

Aussies been-there-done-that, just go out and play.
