Half asleep today and haven't watched Aus innings properly but the more it sinks in the more amazing that was.

Even at our zenith in the last 30 years we stumbled in big games at times - 1996 WC for instance.

To prevail after a torrid tournament start and in the most one sided conditions possible - just crazy. This was a true team campaign win. Lots of cameos but built from discipline and persistence. Our 1999 - 2007 stretch felt more like always having we the heavier artillery on our day. This however was the upset of upsets.

Glorious.

A possible new rule to be added for the next world cup will be to use a normalised scoring system where scores with a standard deviation beyond the 95th percentile above and below the normal will be deleted and the winner will be based on the highest score achieved by the players who scored within the bounds of the upper and lower 95th percentile.

If you like that then just wait until I make up a replacement scoring projection system for rain affected matches.

I think Kohli has always given the opposition their dues. He's a competitor but always seemed to respect the Australian warrior spirit and seek to match it than resort to a victim whining mentality.

Because he's brash people assume he's a bad sport.
Yeah fair enough, he just doesn't seem as friendly as the other Indian players. There's always some stare-off stand-off issue with him too. Bloke's probably gunna be regarded as the greatest batsman ever though, or close to, he's insane to watch.

Yeh I reckon the stare off stuff is misleading. They lost here a few years ago and India media, teammates etc were doing the usual poor me shit. But he gave us full credit and basically said our aggressive attitude was how he wanted to play.

Ive liked Kohli since he told the Indian fans that were abusing smith post sandpaper gate to shut up

This is great.

If you read the replies, this has wound up a lot of Indian cricket suporters, and it's very clear that the subcontinental sense of humour does not encompass irony or satire.
LOL - too soon from the danish pastries.

Indian fans losing their shit about a couple of Australian players forgetting to shake hands with people on the dais.

Funny, I don't remember a single Indian player being their to shake their hands.

In more sombre news.

2 Indian fans dead following their teams defeat to Australia in the CWC.

32 yo had a heart attack watching his team go down, and a 23 yo took his own life following the game.

First T20 underway post the ODI WC triumph and we’ve left a few players out (Maxwell, Head, Zampa) while the rest have headed home.

India won the toss and elected to bowl.

Aus made 3/208 off our 20 overs with Inglis cracking a great 100 off 50 odd balls.

I hope we win this “who cares cup”.

Nailbiter at least.lndia needed 7 runs from the 20th over and so far there’s been three runouts and six runs with one ball remaining annnnnnnnnd they hit a six to win.
