What, that David Noble was gonna be sacked anyway and that no one player is a big enough name to influence who should be coach and who shouldn't? We're not running a union here its a football club the head honchos should be knowing this before the smoke gets too hot.

I don't think you either got the point or you yourself know what you're talking about because you're inferring this as some kind of defence of Noble's sacking which has happened anyway so who cares to debate this.

also no lol.

That's pretty much what I said, and that no one player is bigger than the club, so leave.
it wasn't one player, and they didn't "swing their dick" to force the decision. They gave feedback, and said it was unlikely they would stay if Noble did. it was the club that chose the players over noble...cause no one person is bigger than the club.

And yep, da boiz had a lot to do with it!

“David Noble was sacked as North Melbourne coach after club powerbrokers received staff and player feedback so concerning they felt compelled to act.

As revealed exclusively by SEN.com.au this morning, Noble has coached his last match, ending a tumultuous 38-game tenure that generated only five wins but widespread unrest.

VFL coach Leigh Adams will serve as interim coach for the rest of the season.

The external review led by veteran AFL administrator Geoff Walsh is ongoing and while Walsh didn’t recommend the removal of Noble, his updates have unsettled the Roos’ hierarchy.

The feedback from a large section of staff was so strong it left the club with little choice but to act.

Some players also made it clear that unless Noble was sacked they would seriously consider their playing futures beyond this season.”

I feel bad for Noble, but I’m super happy that we have taken action now, because I was worried that a lot of players weren’t going to want to be here. It was a farewell game last week hence the hugs before the game etc

Need to get our decisions right from here

Would love to know exactly which players played a hand in this decision ultimately because I’m pretty sure they don’t deserve to be here either.

No one persons feelings is bigger than the club and I doubt they were so crucial where we’d be bleeding if they left. As much as Noble was inevitably going to be sacked, I don’t like the idea of individuals swinging d*ck like they own the place and forcing large decisions like this to be swiftly made rather than it come from the wiser heads at the top of the club itself.

Seems weak to me. Our actual leaders should know how to read the tea leaves better.
This is not one or two, it seems like a lot of players, which points to a systemic issue with his man management, a critical coaching skill

Never said it was one player its a turn of phrase, and not even a few is enough to justify moving mountains for their needs. It is a team game after all. Some players liked Shaw enough and it made an influence on the club to make him coach was that the right decision in the long run for the club to make? No.

The club works top down and the tail shouldn't wag the dog on big decisions. Players will make impulsive, emotional based decisions sometimes and if they wind up acting on those emotions despite getting what they wanted, then that's on the club for giving in completely.

Noble was never going to make it, but he walked into a place that's dysfunctional from the get go and there's a few egos on the list who haven't accomplished much of anything, we'll need a coach who commands respect, none of this nourishment biz.

And yep, da boiz had a lot to do with it!

Is this a guess or inner scrote, because only Zurhaar comes to mind since he has put contract talks on hold.

Something the Walsh review hopefully addresses because I think it goes beyond Noble and is more on the footy department and how we manage the players and have services that allow them to handle periods like a rebuild where wins won’t come often or at all.

Poor bloke is shattered.

Hope you can get a gig somewhere David.
He will in Footy Ops without a doubt, great brain for the AFL just unfortunately not as a Senior Coach, at least not yet.

Impressed by North's handling of everything today though. Nothing they have done suggests they don't have this under control. I like how swiftly they've acted on the concerns of their players and staff. Footy club is always bigger than one person. Not that Noble is to blame for everything but if it was the case that him being resigned would cause staff and player exodus then you have to act.

She's doing excellently, as is Ben.

Anyone who is watching and says otherwise is clueless.
kind of agree - shes doing a great job, but is taking a couple of moments after each question to compose herself and answer correctly. Do sauve amazing people take this time to answer? no. So i can SEE the perception, but do think shes doing a great job. Looks like she also sacked a mate, so take that into account
