He also lost 4 finals. With a much higher average losing margin versus his average winning margin.

So 4 wins and 4 losses would make him an average coach by definition.

I can see Brad breaking their finals win drought.

Hopefully Sheedy undermines the whole place more and they fall arse out

It's all in the past. Don't care any more, no sense wondering the what ifs, why's and how's.

Things happen for a reason, and without what happened we wouldn't be here with Clarko at our boundary doing his thing with such HUBRIS that we sit 2-0 in the first time in a long time.

haha i reckon it's fair to say that he feels a tiny bit bitter and resentful towards the footy club and the people in it based on that
‘Perhaps we moved to more defence in the second year’ was the absolute clincher.

WE LOST BY 10 GOALS A WEEK FFS!

yeah, i feel like the whole 'of course i take responsibility' was just saying what he thinks he had to say. he's definitely still pissed about how it all went down. The quick 'nope' when he was asked if he even watches North said plenty

He sucked harder than the Suck Kut from Wayne’s World.

I liked Nobes and he copped a savage injury run but he also couldn’t introduce a defensive structure that wasn’t man on man, couldn’t get the best out of LDU, Powell and Bull and also had several young blokes wanting to leave.
He has to wear some of it, even if the support structures around him were sub-standard

“I wish I’d done my research to know what I was walking Into” was an interesting comment…

Is that targeted at players, the board, recruiters, club as a whole… a fairly broad stab that could be targeted to anyone really?

Oh well, can’t spend your life looking in the rear view mirror or you’ll crash into what’s right in front of you? In our case, a galvanised, united club, chasing our best start to a season in 7 years…

Wish we did our research hiring that fraud

Yeah l found that interesting as well....what, he didn't know we just delisted 11 players? Ben Brown was about to walk?

If he did his research, it was the toughest gig in footy at the time not to mention Buckley shooting his mouth off and as an experience administrator as David is/was, he should have read if the North Board was stable or not.

The statement of "moving to more defence in the second year", yep like moving Mckay to the forward line helped our defensive structure*shakes head*.

Anyway, good luck Nobes at DJR, yes the Board was as much to blame as you were in the 2020-2022 but it doesn't hide the fact that you were over your head and once you lost the players...good luck in motorsports.

I find it interesting after two games under Clarko, Greenwood has risen as a crucial cog in our midfield setup.

Something Noble couldn't do for a whole season even know he literally saw the bloke develop every day.

I’m not going to dine in on defending Noble on this one but Greenwood was brought in to compliment Cunnington, not replace him.

Greenwood is getting to play his own role now which is huge for us.

Oh 100%.

I'm more taking the angle (should've made this clearer tbh) that Noble somehow could not get the midfield mix right until he knew he was finished and just let everything go. LDU rotting on the flanks was absolutely killing us as it meant opposition could be more offensive without the defensive accountability.

It was gameday tactical suicide.

Could it be possible that he just wasn’t cut out to coach?
Not that it matters by the way the pieces have fallen and were always going to. I wonder if Clarko was his first coach, would it have had any influence in the timing of JHF departure? If it would have extended a few years or so?

He was our third coach in 3 years and we were jury rigging a rebuild on and off the field. Anything after that is just trivial details. Everything was broken and either needed fixing or replacing. He seemingly got started, found his level, and then sent us backwards in his second year.

Clarko's managed to surpass that first year just 2 games into his first season even though he inherited an even worse mess than Noble did.

I'm bitter about it too, nobes.

Ironically Clarkson has shown more nourishing emotions towards the players in his first two games than Noble did in two years.

I was genuinely quite surprised that we didn’t get a generic “yeah I’m happy that they’re going well”.

Bit of insight into the man behind the curtain.
I think you mentioned before that anything other than Noble praising the opportunity or being happy about us was gonna surprise.

I'd love to see the interview.
