Mitch Marsh is the most frustrating West Aussie I have ever had to watch play cricket 😭
What about his Brother.

Shaun would look terrible or majestic.

I dont how a test quality batsman could get so many ducks and 100s in such a short career.

6 x 100s
10 x Ducks

In a 68 test innings career thats almost 25% of his innings.

All or nothing but he never was a aggressive slogger that could make you understand the big gap between his best and worst.

His game translated really well to BBL which many found surprising but has kind of been forgotten about

Head plays real cricket shots and scores faster than guy doing "reverse ramps" and other improbable shots. The comparison to Gilly is a good one.
Heads probably a decent chance to be our next captain.
Great to see him doing well after looking shakey in his early years in the side.

Todays selectors would do well to take that on board and start blooding some of the next gen and back them in

I read an article of an interview with Travis Head where he said he was trying to play safe early in his career. Playing safe wasn’t working as he was getting dropped from the team so he decided to back himself.

The rest is history. He certainly looks as relaxed as enyone when batting. Keep up the good work Travis.

There was a bit of talk that he really struggled under Langer, who wanted him to reign it in and play more defensively. He's always had the talent, although two years ago when I declared him our best three format player and projected him to become our own ABDV I got laughed at.

Justin Langer tried to curtail his instincts.

Notice since Langer has gone his game has gone up a level.

Langer was a genuine parasite.

His boning of Khawaja over a disagreement was pathetic.

It will be interesting to see which of Batsmen is next to be dropped.

Head if the only batsmen in form.
The most pressure is now on McSweeney and Marsh.

Luckily for them, the Shield is now on hiatus, so Konstas, Inglis and Webster can't build a case to replace them.

Jarred his neck diving to save a boundary. Had to be stretchered off but should be okay long term, at least when he's back to play for WA.
Luckily for him he can recuperate here at home without having to catch a four hour flight.

Usman Khawaja needs a score as well. Now Smith has one good innings, it will take the pressure of him a bit.

Here are the player averages for the series.

I thought McSweeney was a bit a better than that. It shows how much Head is hiding how bad we are batting. Reminds me of a test series in the West Indies where Steve Waugh, and Mark Waugh a little bit were the only batsmen in form.

4 Batsman averaging under 21 over 4 plus innings.
