I 100% back the afl giving Gold Coast a priority pick. Tbh I wouldn’t even be mad if they have them the top three picks in the draft. They either need to help them big time or just fold them.

If Mark Evans can’t fix them then no one can. Rowell and Anderson would be huge for them.

I dislike the concept of giving them extra picks. How about extra list spots and salary cap space for players over 28 & 100+ games experience. They need proven players who create competition for best 22 jerseys. No point having a team of early draft picks who are all walk up starts, who have no senior competition.
This would do wonders to their competitiveness on field. Draft picks are 3-4 years from maybe being good.

They want the priority for Rowell and Anderson. They don't want to use it for mature talent or to trade it

Just stockpile more kids who will probably want out later

Anyone with one eye that follows footy could tell you they have a gaping hole at inside mid on their list and have done for 3-4 years. Yet they keep going after high priced outside players and not addressing the most glaring need in the whole of the comp, and then wonder why they can’t win consistently or win a final.

I'm not sure if those stats are available but looking at raw stats, Ben Brown received 44 free kicks this season whilst Hawkins received only 13, the difference there alone is staggering.
