Hello my name is Mr.Drih. Yes that will do. I support ... a team other than Essendon and I think that James Hird should be the next Essendon coach.

So this has probably been asked elsewhere on the board - apologies if so but I haven't seen it.
Who are we rooting for/OK with/might avoid vomiting if they win the flag?
Geelong - normally one of my most-hated teams, but don't feel that strongly this year.
Melbourne - probably because most of my vitriol will lie here. No thanks.
Sydney - again, a hated team but like they way they play. Torn.
Collingwood - difficult to root against this team given how they've played across the year. Could even be second preference?
Freo - perfectly fine with them winning. Preferred choice.
Brisbane - should be fine with them winning but I'm not. Don't think I need to worry about that though, they're very flawed.
Richmond - no, they've had enough. Would rather them winning over Melbourne but that's about it.
So Freo, then probably Collingwood, then throw a blanket over the rest - except Dees in last, but probably going to have a bet on them for the flag to cushion the blow just in case.
Geelong nopeSo this has probably been asked elsewhere on the board - apologies if so but I haven't seen it.

Glorious, I ****in hate that club. Last year I called it their list was shit and they wouldn’t make finals this year, despite all the circle jerking from the media. I really really really hope they sign Hird so I can label them desperate and irrelevant rather than just irrelevant!!!.Even had we missed finals this season's been such a glorious gift I feel like sending some flowers to Windy Hill with a thank you note.

Tom Lynch should have been in the side and I reckon Rozee pretty lucky tooStewart getting in over Sicily, Barass and Laird was a ******* disgrace.
Laird hasn’t played defence for at least 2 years.Stewart getting in over Sicily, Barass and Laird was a ******* disgrace.
The Dees finished 2nd. Everyone finished under Geelong and I’m not sure Gawn really lacked composure so still a very odd/stupid choice of captainIt’s the worst side selection in my memory (although bont and macrae not being in there was totally correct)
Hawkins as captain is the lazy choice. Because there were weaknesses in the teams in which captains made it (either the teams underperformed or showed some lack of composure) they went with a left field choice and honoured a long standing player.
Problem is that they did this simply for the purpose of getting a captain in the squad in this case and he didn’t deserve to be there (Lynch did). Reminds me of the Selwood AA captaining except it’s worse as Hawkins isn’t actually a captain.

Does that matter in AA selection? It hasn’t previously. He’s a mid who can rotate back.Laird hasn’t played defence for at least 2 years.
