Can anyone confirm if Derwayne has negative IQ?

In the first quarter he referred to Draper as a superstar. Just need to know if someone needs to arrange an intervention.

TBF anyone whose parents called him Dwayne is starting from a long way back. Not just having that name, but the cruel accident of nature that he had such parents in the first place. He never had a chance.

Looking forward to Geelong flogging us in a months time. They are looking really good right now after their slow start. Granted it was against two mid table teams in the Swans and the Bombers, but we are a mid table team too. We have not really put together four strong quarters in any game yet.

Cats will never die whilst some of their older heads keep playing well.

Bombers, not surprised. Soft start overinflated some peoples views on them. They always play well on ANZAC Day. But back to reality for them today. I think this is the real Essendon and the real Geelong on show at the moment.

We will shit it in

Unless we kick it to Stewart all game again

Then they will shit it in

Why do we get games at Kardinia Park each year?

Does the club ask for them?
Because the AFL will never make Hawks, Pies, Bombers, Blue, Tigers play down there, because they want the big games at the G. So the Cats need to fill in their home game quota with interstate teams, low drawing vic teams, and mostly s**t teams. Which is why they will make finals every year, even when they do eventually suck. Because they get gifted mostly interstate (we all know traveling teams rarely win away), and s**t teams at home.

Unfortunately we land in the group of low drawing VIC teams, so given the pool of teams to play at the Cattery is small, we will end up playing there almost every year. For once I'd like a season where we play the Cats once, but its at our ground and not theirs. Heck, give us two or three seasons in a row without playing down there for once. Its a guaranteed loss each time.

AFL will always put money before fixture integrity and fairness.

Hate Geelong , but if The druggies get up I will thank you all for your company and join the Buddhist monks in some remote part of the world !

Thats the problem. Any time we play a team with an elite interceptor, they have a field day, because we always kick it to them.

We need our forward line to be much better than they have now. We can't do the long bombs to packs endlessly like we do for the most parts. See the last two weeks, we have kicked more goals, because we have kicked to packs less, and gotten some more marks inside 50 with leads and space. Also the pressure and locking it inside 50 has been better.

We should have won at Marvel last season vs the Cats, but let them off the hook. We had a hot start vs them at the Cattery last season. We actually shut down their talls, and moved the ball well. A good lead at quarter time. Then Geelong moved to plan B, emptied their forward lines, and let their small mids and forwards run behind us, and burn us for pace for easy goals for the rest of the game, whilst we reverted to kicking to Stewart after quarter time.

At least it will be at Marvel first up.

The Bombers have done well since the opening quarter, where it looked like a 80 point loss was on the card. Have stopped the margin blowing out and kept up with the Cats. I think Cats will still win well. To big a lead, and Bombers are not good enough to slam on 8 goals to naught.

Great news
I will unpack 👍

What a great week for key forwards. Curnow and Hawkins kicking big bags. Lewis was great to watch last night, 11 marks, a few contested ones. Could have ended with 4 if he kicked straighter and had support around him. Naughton was on fire with 4.3. I thought across the game all our talls had their moments. Lions and Swans talls all kicked a few between them as a unit as well.

I really hope the Suns hang on. They have let slip a few match winning leads late over recent years. I know Tigers are not top tier at the moment, but I don't think anyone would have tipped the Suns to win away vs them. Would continue a very hot and cold season for them. But will be another big tick along side their big upset at home vs Geelong.

I also tipped the Crows, but did not expect this kind of game. They should be up by 40 by now if they were able to kick a couple of those get able ones.

The only person to pick the Suns in our tipping comp was yours truly ;)

Tiges don’t like Marvel, have key outs, not the threat they were and Suns had a more settled team.

If you look at Geelongs draw year on year, it seems to be very “kind”. For example 2016, they played Essendon twice, the substitute team, last year they played West Coast and North Melbourne twice, that’s 16 points right there. Now explain to me how a team that brags about making top four each year, gets such a soft fixture.

Edit: Hardwick never actually said what was in the original and incredibly disingenuous headline. The reporter at his presser actually put this words in his mouth. He played a straight bat and said the ground was the same size as (whatever) the grass is green. I wasn't the ground.

But I made this anyway, because I have the same level of integrity as whoever chose to go with the original caption.

Not normally one to bag the umpires, but they’ve been terrible in this Adelaide vs Collingwood match.

Exhibit A just now.

How in the hell was that not a free kick??

And deliberate against Collingwood now??

****ing Crows supporters with their chip on the shoulder love to endlessly whine about “VIC Bias” - they’ve had a dream run tonight.
