Which 5 games do you see us winning?

The best I can see is St Kilda (assuming they don't pick up form), Western Bulldogs (assuming the shit version shows up), Port (only if they view it as a critical game) and Hawthorn (extremely unlikely). Maybe a guest appearance from Essington, but that doesn't seem likely at all (and them playing badly could probably still beat us).
Saints and Bulldogs don't travel super well, doubt we drop those if we have a few back by then. Hawks will be tough and Essendon matches at Marvel give me nightmares. Port have been shit against us recently, that's more likely than beating the Hawks at AO.

Probably win one or two unlikely games against good opponents just to really tease us.

8 or 9 wins for me, finish 14th or something. Nicks is sacked with a month to go.

So I see Jake Kelly is still a very stinky player

Just noticed Shane McAdam dropped...

Tsatas was a very highly rated mid heading into the 2022 draft, wtf has happened? Starts as sub a fair bit and couldn't make the distance from 40 metres before.

I know we have cracks at our recruiting team (deservedly so), but Essendon’s use of first rounders is pretty ordinary:

2015: Darcy Parish, Aaron Francis
2016: Andrew McGrath
2017: Traded for Devon Smith
2018 & 2019: Traded for Dylan Shiel
2020: Nik Cox, Archie Perkins, Zach Reid
2021: Ben Hobbs
2022: Elijah Tsatas
2023: Nate Caddy

Would say there is not one elite player in that haul…..
I think that is pretty good drafting
Most of those guys are playing pretty good footy
I don't see the busts that Adelaide has

The bolded duo look like shocking value on paper, but Essendon actually came out alright, based on what those picks became.

GWS used the 2017 first rounder on Aiden Bonar, who only played 6 games for them (and was delisted by North last year).
GWS used the 2018 first rounder on Jye Caldwell, who got traded to Essendon anyway.
The 2019 first rounder was the biggest loss, as it ended up being used on Jason Horne-Francis Miles Bergman.

The AFL has actually said the Elliot Yeo holding the ball was the correct decision...
what! We are more campaignered than I thought possible.

Boycot the AFL

How do you drag the ball in when you're in an up right position? It wasn't like he way laying down and dragged it under him? He dragged it back towards himself as he went to get up he was immediately tackled. There was no prior, what did they expect him to do? Not reach out and attempt to pick up the ball? Just sit there a watch some one take possession?

It was a ridiculous decision, the tackle on Wardlaw by Yeo was more holding the ball than Yeo ever was.
