In other words... high contact was made. It's irrelevant that it was a head clash - he chose to bump, and a head clash is a foreseeable outcome of the bump. Rankine was not hard done-by, he was dealt with correctly, as per the tribunal guidelines.

Agree 100%

At least he sent it directly to the tribunal, so there is still scope for a larger penalty to be applied.
Houston end up hitting Rankine's head with his shoulder so only Rankine was in a vulnerable position were only he could get serious hurt as appose to a head clash so technically Houston's action was worst as he protected himself before the action.

What legal issues could possibly arise from that?
Tend to agree. If it was from a prelim then legal action - Supreme Court injunctions from memory in Sydney’s case - may be an option for Power but not when it’s a lengthy suspension before the finals even start.

Very perplexing. Clearly it’s much more vicious and “capacity to cause severe injury” relative to Rankines 4 weeks.

And what about McAdam last year?? Got 3 weeks for the “potential to cause injury” in a near perfect bump to the body that went high with the velocity in another joke - no concussion even occurred - whilst human projectile missile Pickett only got 2 for jumping off the ground and smashing someone straight in the head.

Genuinely corrupt Organisation that makes a lot of shit up as it goes.
