Wasn't the default position that we would forfeit (given how little football mattered compared to what had just occurred), but Geelong agreed to share the premiership points?
It's listed in the history books as a 0-0 draw. Not sure about the forfeit talk, but you could be right.

No Harris Andrews, wow. Should be in over Ryan.

Waterman all Australian ?

You’re having a laugh.
I’d have had Houston out for Andrews, Serong out for Merrett and Waterman out for Curnow. Can probably mount an argument over Xerri versus Gawn but selectors would always favour Gawn. Also Warner put at HF just classic All-Australian nonsense.

As much as I like Serong his second half of the season wasn’t his best, Merrett had a more complete year but was seemingly punished for his side’s results rather than his performance, Andrews also too good to leave out so I would’ve left out Houston as his year wasn’t near the performance of the other half backs (Blakey, Zorko and Whitfield) selected. Waterman’s selection screams of Glen Jackovich having a hissy fit at the selection table, no way his was an All-Australian year.

Actually really like this selection

53 goals in a team that won 5 games.

That's much more impressive than Curnow who kicked 57 goals in a team that won 13 games and made finals.

Kicking bulk goals in shitty teams is very difficult. Larkey last year another great selection.

It’d be nice to be a destination club and have such problems but how do you think Hawthorn are planning to fit Barrass, Battle, Sicily, Weddle and Scrimshaw in the same backline?! Apart from Weddle none of them seem like they’re going to play mid or forward so they really seem to be overloading on key defenders.

How is it Hawthorn are such an incredibly well run club, and yet the bloke we took from them is Silvers?

The Hawks have rebuilt quickly, drafted well and now nailing critical free agency and player trades.
